Best Greek Salad with grilled chicken. Local produce. Chicken marinated in their own sauce. Worth the visit!

Tried the Mediterranean bowl at Petra Cafe today for the first time. Far exceeded expectations! Probably the best bowl I have tried in Memphis. The house dressing was incredible. Will definitely be back soon! 5/5 stars!

Arguably the best gyro in Memphis. Authentic sliced off the rotating spit gyro meat that is hot and delicious.

y’all try either the chicken pita or the mediterranean lamb pita—both are awesome!

Hands down the best Greek in this town! The Feisty Feta dip is without compare. It offers just enough spicy goodness for additional flavor but is not Hot!
Always feisty feta is available as an option to amp up your Gyro… I highly recommend this move.

Honestly, I don’t like making bad reviews, especially for small businesses because they are usually my favorite places. We were in shock when we got our ticket. It’s insane that it cost so much for two people to eat a light lunch here. We got the bill and it was $40! I tipped $7 to be fair to the server. So we just ate a light lunch for $47, the price of a steak dinner elsewhere. We both had a sandwich, not much meat on either of the sandwiches. We frequented the Collierville location and the sandwiches were stacked thick with lunch meat. We both ordered a sandwich, a small bag of chips and a small drink since everything was sold separately. Chips should be included in the price when you order a sandwich for $12-$14. The service was good, portions were small, food was fine, prices astronomical. I overheard other customers asking each other why there meal was so high… oh everything was an “add on”rather than having chips included, etc. I really do wish you the best in these times of such ridiculous inflation and small business overhead, taxes and other struggles. you may want to rethink your menu, serving sizes and or prices.

This is the best Mediterranean restaurant I’ve eaten at in recent years. Their gyro meat is the proper rotisserie shaved stuff which many restaurants don’t bother with, and it makes a big difference in taste. Needless to say, their gyros are excellent, with very tasty tzatziki sauce rounding out the top-notch gyro meat. Their spanakopita is another stand-out dish, and their baklava is usually very very good as well.
I’ve eaten there 6-7 times now over the past year and a half or so, and usually work it into the rare trips I actually make into Memphis. I’ve never had anything to complain about, other than them being a little slow occasionally when there are a lot of customers. It’s family run, and they’ve always been friendly. Everyone I’ve gone there with has also been very impressed with the food as well.
It’s a good thing that I ate there before reading reviews online. Based on the reviews I’m seeing, I have to wonder if they’re all really for the same restaurant located at Poplar and Kirby. To take one such review as an example, the only thing I’ve eaten there so far that I could consider remotely bland is their hummus, but quite frankly I expect hummus to be a bit bland.
The bottom line: if you don’t mind the possibility of getting slightly slow service if they’re busy, and you want to try some authentic and really tasty Mediterranean food, give them a shot.

It was OK. Had chicken shawarma pita. Chicken was good. The pita wasn’t. The pita was very thin, more like a tortilla and it was tough and chewy not soft. Service was good and fast.

Called to place an order for my boss and was told that it was 1:15 and he was really busy by the lady who answered the phone. I don’t think that’s how you attract and keep customers. I used to love their food! **** In response to my review. I never asked to speak to the owner. I only wanted to place a pick up order for the office. Maybe you misunderstood me. I may give it a try again as I love the food!

The lamb and chicken are delicious, but the gyro meat is clearly store bought. . . Their roasted red peppers are from a can, and their dressings are standard. . . The food is decent overall, but a bit pricey considering it’s not all homemade
