A couple of things that bothers me are:
* The menus on the screen. They’re not well organized, the screens flicker, and the menu doesn’t take up the full screen. I’m a tech guy so thing like that bug me.
* The signs taped everywhere. Some of them on thrash just look odd and professional. If you just put a disk tub out there it would look better then trying tell people how to arrange their dishes.
* Get another flat grill to speed up cooking
The place has real potential. I think a couple more dishes would really make the place pop. Oh, get off Groupon too. You loosing half your money on the order when some buys from you. Put the money in local print or radio advertising.
We buy groupons intermittently to try new things here and there. We bought two for this place and tried it out once, and here’s our impression…
There’s another place in Toledo called Piada Italian Street Food. I think Pete’s is trying to compete with that, but doing a very poor job at it.
When we walked in the things we immediately noticed was the place was relatively dead, but was very dirty feeling like they don’t wash properly.
The menus were across the entire cooking area, but are on TV’s. The items were hard to see, and some of the TV’s were dying so you couldn’t see everything. It was a good thought, but they also are directly above where you stand to order, so you have to crane your neck 90 degrees to read it – very dumb design.
We had a rough time deciding on options, because of the above, so we asked questions. The employees were non-engaging and stand-offish and gave us the impression they were there just for the paycheck and weren’t exactly enjoying themselves. To be completely honest one of the things I had ire an issue with is most of them were very trashy looking… I definitely got the impression that cleanliness wasn’t an upmost importance to them.
Probably the worst part was the food was just “Meh”. It took forever, was very pricy, and was just OK.
We have the second Groupon to use and we came to the store tonight a bit before 8:00. Online and the doors both say they close at 9. We tried going in, and the doors were locked already. Definitely not a good sign for them. When we left out towards the back of the building two Pete’s employees were chillaxing outside and smoking cigarettes instead of adhering to their posted times.
We have requested a refund on our Groupon and either way will not be going back.
