I was very happy to be able to finally stop here when it wasn’t crowded with 100 people. We did have a wait time of 15 mins as they put on several burger patties all at once and wait for them to cook which was understandable. The flavor of the burgers was good, but VERY GREASY. I got 2 burgers to go with onions, the greasy went through the paper wrappers and through the bag onto the floor of my vehicle. I also wish I would have been offered or given the option for cheese to put on the burger and I believe that would have made it all that much better. Definitely get yellow and brown on the burger- mustard and horseradish sauce. Other than that, the staff were very polite and inviting. They had told us it was going to be a little of a wait which was appreciated and understandable being they are a small food business and very popular. The atmosphere was great as it was down on main street Lansing. Once the burgers were ready, the service was very quick. The only thing that was very disappointing to hear was that some people will order up to 40-50 burgers at a time which ruins it for the line of people being that have to wait again for burgers.

They need some benches or picnic tables to enjoy the burger! They do not have CHEESE , so the onions are a must otherwise too dry. Their mayonnaise packets were either super outdated or kept in too hot of temperatures, mine was all oil that came out and made me a little queasy when I dropped some on my burger ..

Amazing burgers. 100+ years of doing it the right way. Simple burgers with carmelized onions or not. 3 condiments: ketchup, mustard or horseradish. Thats it, and these burgers don’t need anything else. Usually a line so expect to wait but its worth it! Wish they had picnic tables or an eating area thats the only downfall. But the sidewalks have plenty of benches.

A hamburger stand over 100 years old and still some of the best hamburgers I’ve ever ate in Wisconsin and in fact anywhere. The place where people will stand in line for a half hour and Order 12 hamburgers once they finally make it to the front of the line well worth the wait.

This burger is in the “old school bland” category BUT it’s still somehow tasty even with what appears to be no browning on the surface like it’s steamed. The whole thing is tender, not salty so the flavor of the beef comes through with those onions. Dang it this is begging for some cheese though, I’m bringing my own slices with me next time 😉
