They told me it would be 10-15 minutes and I literally waited an hour!!! That is ridiculous then my food is over cooked. Definitely never going here again. This use to be the spot but so many new people who just stand around and talk and complain.

I always say that the best food spots are cash only and Pete’s meets that description. Great place for an affordable meal. Stopped in a few times recently for lunch with my step dad and had nice meals for under $20. He ordered a monster burger one time which looked really tasty but if I’m going to a fish and chips place, I’m going to order the fish. So, I always order the fish and chips, can’t miss with the classic.

We love this location in south Phoenix near our church and swing by every chance we get.
I enjoy the fish and shrimp combo, while my wife who isn’t much of a shrimp fan just gets the fish – but we both dig Pete’s spicy sauce!
Getting in and out of this location is a little challenging at the moment due to the construction on Central, and parking is a little sparse, but the food is really great for the price and worth the hassle!

This is one of the best locations to get fish and chips. The customer service is good. I ordered the five piece fish and chips. The cod fish were a satisfactory size. However, I gave them four stars instead of five because they do not give you a lot of fries. With that amount of fish, you need to have a lot of fries. I do recommend this location.

Maaannn were do I start. My boyfriend walked in the house with food from here. Now let me say I’m from Chicago thinking we getting catfish, fries and shrimps this man came in the house with sponge bob fillet fish that was bought from the grocery store. I am highly irritated and pissed that we wasted $25 in cash. The shrimp look like squidward. The food taste terrible we would not be eating here again. I see why they do “cash only “.

Meh… I thought it was going to be real fried fish. My friend said it looked like a fried men’s wallet. I was disappointed . The square fish was hard. The shrimp? Never had this type of shrimp before. I ate it because I was hungry and spent $12. Oh yes! Cash only! It cost me an additional $5 to get money from the ATM there. It was not for me. Someone must like it they have 9 restaurants.

Been a fan of Pete’s since the 70’s . Had not been in many years until this visit. Got a combo plate with 2 each of fish/shrimp. Now I know what I’m getting into; unhealthy, enough sodium to kill a horse and deep fried. What I was not prepared for was the shrinkage of the shrimp. They were literally the size of my pinky finger fully breaded. Seriously, they were an inch away from being considered popcorn shrimp. Not a good visit to a nostalgic time.

Visited at 11:30 for lunch and got the #1 value meal: fish, shrimp and fries with drink. Food came very fast. Service is friendly. All seating is outdoors. The food was good, but not great. Pulled apart a couple of the shrimp and there was literally more breading than shrimp. Also I wouldn’t go very often because everything is fried. I do like the sauce a lot.
Pete’s has been around almost 75 years. Location on Buckeye is usually popular/busy at lunchtime, but service is still fast.
