I’ve been going to Petes fish and chips for years different locations and they can never get the french fries right I asked him to be crispy. They’re still soft. Don’t be scared to cook the french fries make them a little brown. Nothing you know don’t don’t be scared. that’s why their french fries and then they want to reheat them. Some look hard and the grease and you know they just reheat them up. You guys come on now Get it together. you had your french fries on point. It’d be no problem. Everything will be fine but you know those french fries don’t be scared. That’s why they’re called french fries. They replaced the meal but the fries are still not right had to come home to cook my fries so they can be crispy

There were a couple of diners during our drive thru order that ardently spoke to one another at irritatingly high decibels (you know the type: they could be two football fields away and they are convinced everyone should be paying attention to how swave and deboner they are… ), but that’s not Pete’s fault. These guys are helpful and friendly and the neighborhood staple of affordable, tasty fast food. It’s just a little loud if you don’t go for that sort of crowd. I’ve been scarfing Pete’s fish and chips since I went to school with Moses. J/k– suffice it to say decades.

44st Indian school let me tell you the quality of your family business has gone down hill extremely!!!!!!!! this is a large onion ring? This is sad your manager with the red hair said that well we actually got 9 rings instead of eight…how insightful this information he passed down to us was He was not rude at all and seemed very apologetic about it but what’s up with the quality of food??? they took over 45 min in the drive thru for this they were horse playing and still managed to forget an item.

We’ve been visiting Pete’s Fish n Chips off and on since the 1950’s. Since 2019, we’ve been visiting Pete’s on 44th Street on a weekly basis. When our beloved 17 year old pet dog, Turbo, became deaf and mostly blind, he didn’t like riding in the car anymore and we never left him alone. So I would call the order in to Pete’s and my husband would drive down and pick it up…every week. When our little Turbo passed at 19, we both would drive down but still bring the order home. And we’re still doing the same thing today, although there’s ample covered outdoor seating. We’ve gotten to meet and have become friends with some of the staff who work so very hard and sincerely care about their customers. Elizabeth holds a special place in my heart. Thank you Pete’s Fish n Chips for being there for us and always being the most reasonably priced delicious food anywhere! From fish, seafood, burgers, burritos, hot dogs, chicken, fries, onion rings, and jalapenos. Simply the best!

Today had a taste for use to be one of my favorite eats, and it has gone to hell I was raised on this place since I was 5. There wasn’t much shrimp in the fish and chips. Then they shorted me a fish, and when I went to asked for it the young girl seemed to have a attitude. Plus they use triple to much salt. Just really.

I grew up by the Pete’s off of 36th St & Van Buren, on the north side of the street. Had red stools and everything. Then it was rebuilt on the south side of the street. Been ordering monster burgers with cheese since I was a kid in the late 70s. Loved their thick fries. As a teen I started with the shrimp and chips. We moved out of Phx over 20 yrs ago & when we come to town, we hit up all of our favorite places. This is one of them. I got a monster burger w cheese. It was a little dry but still good. The fries were different. Skinnier than I remember, not as good. The shrimp was mostly breading, not as good. I usually prefer the location on south central, but this was on our way back to the airbnb. I really enjoyed talking to the cashier. He was super friendly and gave us some swag. We love Pete’s Fish & Chips and will be back. ❤️ Prices were still pretty cheap 🙂

I’ve been coming to Pete’s Fish & Chips in Arcadia for over a decade now, and I’ll say this plainly: eating there is nothing short of a religious experience. I don’t use that phrase lightly — every visit feels like a pilgrimage to the altar of crispy batter, flaky fish, and that legendary sauce.
From the first bite, you’re struck by the perfect balance: the crunch, the hot insides, the salt, the tang. Decade after decade, the consistency is uncanny. The staff recognize my order before I even speak it. The scent of fries in the air feels like home. Even when life is messy, Pete’s has this ritualistic power to center me.
Some people leave negative reviews. I’m convinced they’re just “haters” — probably folks who taste ketchup and think it’s spicy. They clearly don’t understand nuance. They’ve never tasted this special sauce, or felt the communion of flavors that come together in that first bite. Trust me — take your seat, let your senses open up, and you’ll see what worship really tastes like.
Ten years in, I’m still in awe. If you haven’t gone yet, prepare your soul — this is more than a meal. It’s devotion.

I’ve heard that Pete’s was good, for the entire 10 years I ve lived here. And it’s not bad. But it’s not what I expected. The basic fish & chips is a square of minced fish, breaded in crumbs instead of the more common batter. It has a nice flavor, good crunch, but after the crunch it has the texture of Gordon’s fish sticks. The chips were ok, but even at 11:30 am, they weren’t exactly hot, almost like they had them in a cold, open air holding pan for 5 or 10 minutes.
Came with a thin red sauce, I didn’t try it but it looked like hot sauce. No vinegar, ketchup, or tartar sauce, though I didn’t think to ask. And they’re strictly cash only business. They do have an ATM on the patio (I hate that for reasons irrelevant here) so if you want to stay in your car, stop at the bank first.

I finally got to eat at Pete’s fish and chips i’ve heard a number of people rave about the food there. So I finally went to experience the many delights that I heard of well. Needless to say, I went to the window and the establishment. Does not accept debit card or credit cards? All purchases are cash. Only I finally ordered my food which was very simple. It was fish and chips. Well, their logo depicts a fish. But what I received definitely did not look like a fish. It looked like a dissected filet.-o-fish sandwich from mcdonald’s hold the bread. This rectangular shaped overly breaded piece of so-called fish was what was served along with French fries.
To be realistic, I don’t know how this establishment has stayed open for as long as it has. But it really lacked a lot of flavor the least that could have been seasoned with some old bake seasoning. This fish Patty was very bland and the French fries had no salt. I then requested Tartar sauce for the fish turns out.Tartar sauce is not included with your fish.Patty.You have to purchase it separately. What was included was some hot sauce mixed with Shrimp cocktail sauce which actually did not taste so bad? It enhanced the flavors of both fish and fries.
I’ve waited so long to eat fish and chips from this establishment and I was very disappointed. The fish did not seem as though it was fresh. It’s been frozen for who knows how long I personally don’t think that I’ll be eating there again.
