From the very first moment, you can tell the owners truly know Texas BBQ. Amanda, the manager, is such a kind and welcoming woman — she made us feel at home right away.
The food was absolutely delicious, especially the ribs — tender, flavorful, falling right off the bone, melting in your mouth. You can taste the love and tradition in the recipe, which we were told comes straight from Texas and Chef Mr. Pete himself. We also tried the nachos, which were tasty, though a little on the sweet side for us.
The atmosphere is warm and cozy, filled with soul: beautiful postcards, children’s drawings, family photos, and even the story of how the restaurant came to be. You can really feel that this place was built with heart.
If you haven’t been here yet — or if you’re just passing through — I highly recommend stopping by. It’s easily one of the top restaurants in Wisconsin for BBQ and grilling. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and Amanda went out of her way to explain everything and make sure we enjoyed our visit.
Another great bonus: right around the corner is Timber Tap Taproom and Brewery, with an amazing selection of beer and cider. We happened to visit in September during Oktoberfest — there was live music, perfect late-summer weather, and it made for such a memorable evening.
And just to top it all off — there’s even a bike repair station nearby, so if you’re cycling through, it’s the perfect stop!

I am from Oklahoma and love my BBQ. This reminded me of home. Very flavorful. We had the Rib tips, Okra, Fries and Moo&Oink- Pulled pork and Brisket Sandwich with the smoked beanz. Rib tips were cooked perfect and the sandwich just the right amount of meat and filling. Thank you for taking me back.

I love BBQ and good BBQ is hard to find. My friend took me here for my first time and I was NOT disappointed!! I got the cut brisket, mac n cheese, and fries. My friend got the ribs and potato salad and beans. Maaaaaaaan, everything was cooked beautifully, seasoned to perfection, EVEN the fries were tasty. The owner even took time to come talk to us. He also talked us into dessert. YES, they were delicious as well. I will be back for sure! Thank you and stay blessed

This was our first time trying out Peter’s Boyz and it will definitely not be our last! We were seated immediately by a very friendly waitress which is always a great start. The food was top notch and very flavorful. You can tell this is authentic southern BBQ food, which is difficult to find in our area. The space is small but cozy with western themed decor. The portions are perfect for the price as well. We have just found our new favorite BBQ restaurant!

WOW!!!! This place is amazing! If you like authentic southern BBQ, you absolutely MUST stop here! Be sure to arrive early since everything is made fresh and once it’s gone, it’s gone. The staff is so friendly and inviting, and the atmosphere is an adorable and cozy western diner. Do not leave without getting the bourbon caramel smoked cheesecake! TOO DIE FOR!!!!!!

This is a really great place to get Texas barbecue! It is an overlooked hidden gem in downtown Kimberly, just past the post office !! Everything is cooked and smoked by the owner directly, everyday. He loves what he’s doing and it shows in the food, the service, and the atmosphere! Even if you’re not a big barbecue fan, this is worth the stop!! Ribs melt off the bones, tender brisket, (prepared for 16 hrs.) chicken, pulled pork. all in a variety of dishes. And, be sure to order the small but VERY good, dense, butter cake! You don’t need large pieces! He will personally make sure you really do like your meal.

I was searching around the area for smoked meats and i hope they stay because that was damn good. I ordered the 2 meats & 2 sides. The brisket was great and moist and very smokey! Ribs were falling off the bone and with the bbq sauce provided was a cherry on top. Corn bread was perfect, it was a firm but yet fluffy texture with a sweetness taste. Mac n cheese was also great! It was creamy and had a good amount of cheese!

My wife and I stopped here for the first time yesterday and were blown away. The food is excellent! The staff were so friendly and took great care of us. Everything we ordered was delicious! My highlights: Smoked Baked Beans, Sliced Prime Brisket, and Dry Rub Ribs. My wife loved the Mac and Cheese, Pulled Pork, and Sliced Prime Brisket. We highly recommend that you finish your meal with their Smoked Cheesecake as it is the best cheesecake slice I have ever tasted! All in all this place is a hidden gem amongst the Fox Valley and worth at least a two to three hour drive!

We had a range of food for our first visit to get an idea of what we would like. The Chopped Brisket needed the sauce. The BBQ yardbird was moist and flavorful and one of the best meats served. The ribs were nice and tender and had good seasoning on them. The Pulled pork was alright. But let me tell you, the fries were our favorite!! The slaw was a touch of sweet, and beans had a unique flavor that tasted like cinnamon, and the potato salad was good. The free sauce is sweet baby rays but if you want any of Pete’s sauce you have to pay extra, but they were good.
