The food was to die for!!
Absolutely somewhere to visit and take advantage of the January 30% savings deal!
I would say we were quite disappointed by our visit to this restaurant, and quite frankly it did not live up to our expectations.
Upon arrival, we arrived promptly at 6pm for our booking, we were told that our table was not yet ready and to wait at the bar – which of course is absolutely fine, however we were waiting at the bar for about 20 minutes and other people were being seen to their tables who arrived after us. Secondly, the hostess did not offer to take our coats despite offering all other guests that entered the restaurant. My friend had to ask the hostess to take our costs which at that point she did. The gentleman that served us at the bar was lovely however and very attentive.
When he finally sat down at our table the table was beautiful and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. There was a pianist that played temporarily which was lovely when he did.
Prior to our food arriving, we asked the waiter if he would mind taking a photo of us, to which he stated he would, but that he would be back shortly to do this. He didn’t arrive back until around 10 minutes later until after we had our first set of food plates delivered to the table. At this point, we had already began eating our food when he returned and we felt a little flustered as there were plates on the table and we were half way through eating. He very kindly removed the plates so the table would look clear for the photos, however these got cleared away afterwards (the side plates) which my friend still had some lobster on which she was a disappointed by.
The food we ordered was delicious. However, personally, we knew the portion sizes were meant to be tapas-style, however we did feel that from what we have previously experienced they were exceptionally small, so just to advise anyone to manage their expectations with this.
Later throughout the meal, we went to order our final drink. My two friends wanted to order a glass of the same wine, and the waiter asked if we wanted carafe. My friend queried if this would be more expensive, which was uncomfortable to watch as we felt he was trying to upsell us and convince us it would be “cheaper” which was not the case, as once we checked the menu we realised this would cost an additional £41 each. This would of course of been satisfactory and even helpful, if this was offered at the start of the night, however this was our final drink and we did feel he was trying to upsell and it did feel a little awkward, especially as for all the questions my friend was asking, he appeared reluctant to answer. In simple terms, he said this option would be “cheaper” for us, and it would have not been – I am glad my friend checked the menu.
Throughout the night, I would have said the service was generally quite poor and the staff were generally inattentive, we had to flag the waiter down multiple times.
Due to it being my friends birthday, we thought it would a nice idea to go up to the hostess and let her know of this celebration. My friend walked up to the hostess to ask directions to the toilet and to inform her of the birthday, to which the hostess snatched her iPad to her chest as if there was some government secret on there and that appeared generally unfriendly. Credit to her though, she did inform the waiter of the birthday and my friend did receive a little birthday sweet treat at the end.
Towards the end of the night, the waiter asked us if we would like to look at the desert menu. We distinctly said “no thank you”, however he swiftly returned with the desert menu in a sad, final attempt to upsell. Again, uncomfortable.
Overall, the experience was decent but it did not feel like a fine dining experience at all.
We are vegetarian and we ordered the vegan menu and had most of the starters which were nice.
The mains we had were the soy chicken and empanadas which again were too small portion but nice (a little expensive )
Positives
– great customer service by matt. He made the night very seamless and super helpful.
– food was interesting and presented nicely
– the overall service was very good
Negatives
– the music was good but too loud
– the toilets are a little further away inside the hotel
– would be good to have slightly bigger tables to allow for all the tapas dishes to be on the table
What a lovely service again last night at PSK. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant management and staff demonstrated impeccable attention to detail, ensuring everything ran seamlessly and that every guest felt genuinely valued.
James and Dominico were amazing once again — attentive, professional, and effortlessly warm. Their knowledge, timing, and care truly elevated the entire evening. It’s rare to encounter such consistent excellence in hospitality, but they deliver it every single time.
For people who appreciate good food and service like myself — having experienced some of the best restaurants across the UK and around the world — PSK continues to stand out. The chefs at PSK truly know their art. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced in flavour.
The food and service were amazing as always. PSK continues to set the standard for what a great dining experience should be — refined, welcoming, and unforgettable.
Already looking forward to the next visit.
