My husband and I had the pleasure of relaxing at the charming Peter Hedrick Inn and dining at the Peter Hedrick Restaurant. This is our second visit to Williamsport, and our return was largely inspired by the exceptional hospitality at both the inn and the restaurant, as well as the outstanding quality and ambience of Peter Hedrick’s dining experience.

The food was exceptional. No matter what you choose from the menu, every dish is consistently delicious—thanks in large part to the high‑quality ingredients and the care that goes into each creation.

This certainly won’t be our last visit. We look forward to returning to our quiet oasis and this hidden‑gem restaurant.

The food was exceptional and very reasonably priced! We went in December around the holidays and the decorations were beautiful. The staff was very polite. We didn’t have to ask for our waiter once, he was on top of everything we needed. We will definitely be going back as this is our new favorite!

We had an incredible experience at the Peter Herdic House for a large group dinner. Every dish was delicious and enjoyed by all. For appetizers we shared the pate, Peruvian shrimp, and oysters, and for mains the group enjoyed the filet, scallop with crab ravioli, chicken champagne, and pistachio crusted cod. They even created kid-friendly versions of dishes to accommodate our little ones. For dessert, they presented a stunning chocolate mousse cake to celebrate our birthday guest, which was such a special touch.

The space itself is beautiful, and we were tucked into a stunning private room that worked perfectly for our large group. You can tell they put real love and care into both the food and the customer service. It was also a pleasure working with Liz in the lead-up to the event. Highly recommend for a special group dining experience!

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Peter Herdic House Restaurant last night. They crushed it. Their service is timed extremely well. They would do well if there was a FOH Olympics. I had their special. Fettuccine in a spinach cream sauce with shrimp and scallops. Everything cooked perfectly. Pasta dishes are difficult to pull off consistently. I would love to eat their pear/walnut salad everyday. The decor is dope

The Peter Herdic House is one of those places that reminds you why going out to dinner can actually feel like an experience again.

From the bar to the table, everything just worked. We started with a Manhattan, two glasses of Cabernet, and I had a Santa’s Little Helper (which sounds festive and drinks even better – it has Espresso, peppermint vodka, some Kahlua, Bailey’s, simple syrup, and a peppermint candy rim!)

Food-wise? Locked in. My wife went with the scallops and the butternut squash soup, both absolutely dialed in. I started with the pâté (rich, smooth, and exactly what it should be), and the lasagna for my entrée was comfort food that clearly had some thought and care behind it.

Dessert sealed it. I’m a lemon sorbet guy through and through, but the raspberry sorbet was the closest cousin and totally delivered. My wife had the bourbon pomegranate crisp, which was the kind of dessert you keep “just tasting” until it’s mysteriously gone. Coffee was excellent too, which matters more than restaurants think.

Add in the atmosphere of the house itself – warm, historic, intimate without feeling stuffy – and you’ve got a place that feels special without being pretentious.

If you’re in Williamsport, PA and want a night that feels intentional, relaxed, and genuinely well done, The Peter Herdic House is it.

The place is just as beautiful & vintage as the pictures suggest. We started with escargot and French onion soup—both were excellent, leaving little to complain about. My boyfriend and I especially loved the butternut gnocchi dumpling and paired it with a duck leg as well. The duck leg was outstanding, with crispy skin, perfectly roasted meat that fell off the bone. However, the vegetables were too oily for my taste. The duck breast was served on the rare side—tender and delicious, pairing wonderfully with the pomegranate and sweet potatoes, though the vegetable selection could have been better. I feel like a roadkill rabbit trying to make a meal out of dried grass on the highway shoulder. Let’s just say the vegetable choice wasn’t winning any popularity contests.

Wednesday evening last week I had dinner there with my former wife. Everything as usual beautiful the food was delicious. The service was excellent. The owners are very very nice people. I recommend this place as the best place in Williamsport for dinner. I believe they’re open for lunch coming pretty soon during the holiday season or rather Christmas season Thank you.

Everything was perfect until the end and if I could make this a 4.5, I would. Would love to work my way around their small plate menu. We had the chicken pate (yum) and each an onion soup. My husband had chicken of some sort (breast, and I just don’t like white meat) and I had a butternut pasta.
Downgrade for charging for using a cc. I’ve researched this and at worst, cc and cash cost the same. Most do not think about the cost of handling cash, counting, ‘lost’ and counterfeit bills, transport to a bank, and it’s just plain dirty. I object to subsidizing cash sales.
Anyway, I’d recommend, just bring those germ ridden bills
