This is literally a neighborhood small Italian restaurant. I’ve been here several times at lunchtime. Its always been good, but some reason it’s very quiet in terms of customers, which I don’t understand. It’s nice for me – easy to get seated. But I want them to stick around! I hope other folks in the south Torrance area will check it out. Today I had the Italian sausage with spaghetti (I believe it’s on the menu as “Spaghetti Sausage”). It’s a slightly flat kind of spaghetti pasta, with marinara sauce, Italian sausage, bell peppers and onions. Absolutely delicious. The sausage was perfect (I’m really sensitive to too much salt, and this sausage was perfect!). My friend had the pesto with chicken. I got to sample the pasta, and it was delicious (lots of basil and butter).
Please check out one of our south Torrance neighborhood Italian restaurants. I’m pretty sure it’s family owned.

Been coming here for years. We def have our faves Mama Mia Chicken Eggplant Parmesan, Carbonara, Pesto Linguine, Chicken Alfredo, Ravioli. Always ask for 2nds on bread basket w chimichurri–fresh and hot. Fresh lemonade. Hits the spot. We come for the food. Server is same gal for decades. Always pleasant.

Sad. I was in the mood for some Italian and so decided to try a new place. Let’s just say I’m never going back. The chopped Italian salad was essentially just lettuce. The meat sauce pasta was tasteless and the pasta was overcooked. The only redeeming quality was the bread and chimmichuri sauce which was warm and tasty. Otherwise, I crossed this off the list.

Food: The garlic bread was not great. The Carbonara did not look or taste like a Carbonara but was nice. The calzone was very good.
Service: even though there were only 3 tables (6 people) we had to ask for service multiple times and the food took longer than expected.
Atmosphere: for some reason the restaurant was playing what sounded like funeral music.

$16 for the smallest pizza ever with barely any toppings. We didn’t pick anything off before the photo. Meat lovers? Not nearly enough to love. Service was super slow and not very helpful. It took almost an hour for our food to arrive. Bread with the garlic basil dip was yummy however no offer to refill. Got their specialty soup, can’t remember the name but it’s the creamed veggie soup, had no flavor at all and for 8 bucks? No thanks. My Chicken Florentine had no flavor either. The only bright spot was the shrimp pesto. I would only go back for the pesto… Maybe.

This was our first dining experience here. I told the waitress that we were in a bit of a hurry but that didn’t seem to matter. Service was very slow…..(she had only 3 tables a time while we were there, so I’m don’t know why the service was so slow)! I had to flag her down for things we needed and even didn’t get refills for our sodas. Gave up on that. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is for the food! Everything we ate was very good, with the exception for the tomatoes they served with the mozzarella caprese….. They were hard and not ripe! Couldn’t eat them. Willing to try them one more time….Hopefully service will be better!

We all know what “home food” means. Yes, food that is made by your mother or grandmother, served under cozy dining table light, so natural that you don’t even think about what it tastes like. It’s just simply and naturally “good food.” Pesto’s Italian Restaurant is truly meant for that word.
To be honest, every Italian restaurant you search for are either fancy ones or “pizza and pasta” joints. This restaurant is neither. When you walk in and eat their food, you feel like every taste being “home food.” Nothing too fancy, nothing too cheap, but really homey. Just imagine like this. You got invited by your Italian friend and his/her grandmother cooked you some plates. And those plates may be completely normal to them. But to you, it’s not just another Italian plates. Just so good, you know? I actually don’t know how to describe this place further. You just have to try!!!
Of course, everyone who works there are super friendly and warm. We don’t go their often because of distance. But whenever we go pass by it, we go there.
Definitely try their Seafood Chioppino, which is just flawless, and Artichokes Gorgonzola Pizza, cheesy but fresh.

THE BEST PASTA PLACE IN SOUTH BAY! I absolutely enjoyed all the dishes I have tried here. I strongly recommend their Spaghetti Carbonara and Gnocchi in pink sauce. Amazing food and service. I’m actually little bit angry that I found out this place so late! I love their chimichurri too. It tastes just like home-made ones.

This Italian restaurant is a hidden gem. The dishes are very tasty. Great quality ingredients. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. I tried 3 dishes and now my goal is to hit everything on the menu once. I even ordered a meal to go. That’s how impressed I was. Prices are very reasonable and the menu is surprisingly large. See y’all there soon.
