It was my big brother’s birthday. Actually we had two family members celebrating birthdays so I stopped by to ask if it was possible to make a reservation to eat in their wine room as it was a little more secluded and not so noisy. Several of our family members have issues with their hearing, so this was a problem at other restaurants. I wanted us to have an opportunity to talk to each other and enjoy each other‘s company and celebrate properly!

So happened to notice Pesto Ristorante while taking our son the restaurant in the same square. My husband and I decided to try it out. We were very impressed with everything! The service, food and everything was great! It’s almost like being back in Europe! We loved it so much that we will definitely be coming back again.

Rosa and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pesto Ristorante, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The customer service and food were both by far some of the best that I have ever encountered.

The food was amazing. We loved the atmosphere. We went during lunch. It was peaceful and the hostess/waitress made sure we felt at home while taking care of our table. We will definitely add this to our list of favorites.

Quite possibly the worst chicken piccatta in San Antonio. Plain chicken, plain pasta, sprinkled with capers. I knew to expect “less” of Italian food in San Antonio, but this was truly a disappointment.

Docked it because the mussels were really salty and the calamari did not taste that fresh, but it was the best Caesar salad I have ever had and great service.

From the Curmudgeon-About-Town blog: This place is a little out of my local area (meaning, it’s not within walking distance of my house) but since it opened a few years back, it’s become my favourite for Italian food. The menu isn’t as extensive as Caparelli’s On Main, but everything they do, they do very well. The service has been much improved the last few times I’ve been, too — before that it had been … well, not bad, but inconsistent. My only complaint is that they’ve changed their bread from a cheese-laced foccacia to a more run-of-the-mill product. Still good, but hey, I used to go there just for the bread.

Decided to try this restaurant on our last night in San Antonio. I would.gice this place a 3.75. the host at the door wasn’t very welcoming. The atmosphere wasn’t very inviting. With Italian food the sauce is so important. I feel like the sauce wasn’t fresh or home made. The calamari was chewy and hard and flavorless. I think this place has potential but portions are small and flavor is lacking. .

Hands down best fish in San Antonio. The snapper, both on the lunch menu and dinner menu, is unequaled. The white tablecloth, quiet atmosphere is relaxed. The music list is entertaining but not overpowering. The service is unhurried. Well done!

Old bait and switch here! Called ahead to book a reservation, but times were limited, Seemingly it must have been a good and popular place. When I arrived I opened the door gave my name and was greeted to a point to table “In the back is where we placed you” Ok..? No follow me nothing and back down into his guest list. Fumbling our way to the back accompanied with stares from the other patrons as if we didn’t belong. Then surprisingly we were greeted by our server the same unfriendly hostess. He was short and quick to take our orders and was gone. Great presentation with the food but lacked taste. I just couldn’t get past the sleepy and rude service. Average taste quality. Looks only to be loved by the locals in the 2 block radius. Plus the venuewas damn near empty no need to close off time for reservations they need all the patrons they can get.
