Honestly one of the best Italian meals of my life. The service was so attentive and friendly, the selection of food was delightful! Easily the best pizza of my life. Very accommodating for my dairy allergy – amazing wine selection and the whole atmosphere was something like a home from home upon the Italian riviera. Cannot recommend this place enough.

10/10, the food was delicious! The best Italian food we’ve had in years (familyof 6), even their own brand lager was excellent! It’s a lovely quirky/cozy place with outstanding friendly service from our waitress Katie.
TBH we don’t usually rate Italian restaurants because we find the food to be average but tonight we took a chance & it really paid off.
We highly recommend pesto Italiano ❤️

By far the best Italian Restaurant in Durham and We’ve tried them all!
We had the Carbonara (with actual pancetta,not ham) and, recommended by the waiter, Tagliatelle Alla Spagnola…..what can I say truly delicious. Fresh, authentic and full of flavour.
Great, friendly and attentive service. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about all the dishes and ingredients.
The atmosphere was lovely too, really cosy and warm.
Can’t recommend this place enough, we will be back time and time again!!

I must have been here on a bad day- it was probably the worst meal I have ever had. I don’t say this lightly as I don’t like to give a negative but the food was unpalatable. My pizza came out the wrong order and was quickly replaced with a barely cooked but correct one. My companions food was no better- one had chicken which seemed to be lacking in chicken. The lasagne was apparently ok according to another. I really hope it was an anomaly.

The restaurant looks very inconspicuous from the outside and yet we wanted to try a visit there.
The food was from ok to very good.
The mussels were oversalted, unfortunately there was no salt at all on the noodles, the bruscetta lacked the zing, the tomato mozzarella bread was really good and the pizza in particular was really, really good ❤️ The dough was exceptionally aromatic and tasted excellent.
What I didn’t like at all was simply adding the tip to the bill and expecting you to pay for it. It’s quite common to ask how many tips you get.

Despite the Lumiere being on and Durham about as busy as it could get, there were not enough staff on.
The quality of the food ranged from poor to dreadful.
Despite paying a bill of almost £80 for 2 people a lot of food was left untouched.
The food was either extremely bland or extremely salty. The homemade chips were frozen crinkle chips. The sea bass was served in the foil it had been cooked in (I’ve never come across that before). The tables had a school dinner vibe about them.
If it was the only place to eat in Durham I would not return.

I definitely enjoyed everything – the food, service and restaurant outlet! It’s so aesthetic inside and the lady was really polite and understanding of my personal space as I had lunch myself alone. Will come eat here again when I’m back to Durham.
