I was shopping near the restaurant on Jan 21st, so I decided to give them a call and see what I can order. A lady answered the phone and I explained the situation that happened a month ago. She kinda paused and did a small laugh, and said a month…what we can do is make the same food for you and I said but you, or someone else said that I can choose another dish?!? She said (with glee) I said that only to ____ the situation (I’m sure she meant to say resolve). I asked her if she knew what the pic looked like and she said no. I said it’s on your website. She looked, and then she said…ok, there’s some onions, chilis…I can have the chef make it look just like that, I’ll show him the pic. I said you guys used real chicken for that photo, that’s not what I received, chunks of anything. She said, ok, it won’t look just like that, but it will taste the same! I explained to her that I’m aware how vegan food is and that this was nothing but soy strips made with sauce and unless you guys have actual bits of vegan chicken, then it would just be the same, which is why I would have rather had something worth my money, just as you offered.
It came to a little $16, that day, in Dec. I requested my money back and she accepted, but I then, later, realized I requested and received my money back, when I returned the food. Only because I requested it. When I returned the food she still assured me, again, lifting the sticky note paper with my name on it, that I can come back “anytime” and get something “different”.
I wanted something spicy and smoky to take the edge off. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Roti, with a side of Samosas. I wasn’t impressed with the doughiness of the Samosa casing, but that could have been due to the Styrofoam trapping condensation. However, the Chicken was flavorful and indulgent. It was rich an s creamy with a robust tomato accent.
They serve a daily lunch buffet. Its open so you can mix and match protein and sauce flavors.
The first major issue is the laughably limited menu for vegetarians. The options presented were minimal, and the “starters” consisted only of basic, uninspired items like Cut Mirchi and Onion Pakoda. At this price point, I expect creativity and variety, not the absolute bare minimum that any roadside stall offers. It felt like an afterthought, bordering on insulting.
However, the real failure was the main course quality. The food was served disappointingly cold—tepid at best—which immediately ruins the dining experience. Beyond the temperature failure, the dishes were universally bland and flavorless. There was no depth, no spice, and certainly none of the rich, aromatic complexity one expects from a grill specializing in regional cuisine. It was, quite frankly, dull and forgettable.
For the exorbitant prices they charge, the combination of cold, flavorless food and minimal effort put into half the menu is utterly unacceptable. The value for money here is zero.
I cannot in good conscience recommend Persia Biryani Grill to anyone. Save your money and your appetite, and look elsewhere for quality, warmth, and flavor.
I remember I came here with my family in 2022-2023. The food was delicious then.
I came back recently and I would not recommend!! I’m so sad to say the quality has gone down so much and I don’t know why.
As other reviewers have pointed out.. the servers are a bit rude and the staff is awkward and not friendly at all. They stare at you and can’t even greet you with a smile.
The food tasted like they just mixed a bunch of random spices together and called it a day. I remember this place being pretty good and the service being good too but now.. I don’t know what happened.
Our server was very patient and helpful. The food was fresh and flavorful.
The buffet featured a variety of items, including idli, dosa, vada, poori, pongal, paaya, and chicken curry, among other dishes. The dosa station was particularly impressive, offering made-to-order dosas with options like plain, ghee, masala, onion, and uthappam.
Overall, the food was delicious, and while a few items could use some improvement, I was satisfied with my meal. The variety and quality of the dishes made for a delightful breakfast experience. If you find yourself in the area on a weekend morning, I recommend giving this breakfast buffet a try. You won’t be disappointed!
