Buzzy place for classic Florentine steak & wine, with an enclosed terrace & huge mural of Florence.

Reviews
My experience at this restaurant was decidedly average, mainly due to the stark contrast between the food and the service.
The food was good, but not exceptional. It was perfectly fine and satisfying, but nothing truly stood out. Given the middle-of-the-road pricing—neither the most expensive nor the cheapest—the food was acceptable value.
The Service & Communication Struggle
The service was a major letdown. The staff was notably unfriendly and seemed disinterested. As visitors, we found it extremely unusual that there was no English menu, and the staff didn’t bother speaking English either, which made ordering and basic communication quite difficult. This is a significant barrier if you don’t speak the local language.
A Highly Peculiar Detail
The most unusual part of the visit, by far, was the toilet decor. We were quite surprised to find pornographic pictures displayed in both the men’s and women’s restrooms. This is a bizarre choice for a dining establishment, especially when children are visiting.
The Verdict
It’s okay to visit if you are local or don’t mind poor service, zero English options, and can overlook the strange restroom art. If friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere are important to you, I’d suggest trying another place nearby.
We also noticed that the service seemed a little lacking that evening, perhaps because it was a busy night..
Competent Food Drowned Out by Poor Service and Inappropriate Decor
This Restaurant delivers a deeply mixed experience that, unfortunately, merits a low recommendation, particularly for visitors. The core issues lie with a distinctly unwelcoming service staff and a bizarre aesthetic choice in the facilities, which overshadow the merely competent food.
The Meal: Traditional but Uninspired
The food is its saving grace, but only just. It is traditional and well-prepared, showing a basic respect for local cuisine and utilizing solid ingredients. However, it is fundamentally unexceptional and makes no effort to stand out. Guests will find a predictable, adequate meal that is a reliable, if unexciting, taste of the local area. This is not a culinary destination; it is simply a place to eat traditional food that is “all right.”
Service and Setting: Unwelcoming and Unprofessional
The service is the main point of failure. The staff members appeared to be inattentive, impatient, and carried an air of arrogance. Simple requests were met with an unfortunate level of indifference or annoyance, creating a decidedly unwelcoming and awkward atmosphere that actively detracted from the experience.
Furthermore, the restaurant fails on the simple standard of appropriate facilities. The restrooms (both ladies’ and gentlemen’s) featured wall decorations that were bizarre and completely unsuitable for minors or a professional, family-friendly dining environment. This questionable aesthetic choice reflects a clear lapse in judgment regarding customer comfort and standards.
Conclusion:
In summary, this establishment seems tailored for a local audience willing to overlook glaring service flaws and questionable decor in exchange for predictable, traditional cooking. For a tourist seeking a warm, professional, and memorable dining experience, the combination of merely average food, actively poor service, and inappropriate surroundings makes this a place that cannot be recommended.
We placed two orders of grilled Cod with vegetables and boy they turned out to be perfect and to top it off their amazing customer service definitely adds gold to glory.
Definitely recommend the restaurant!!
Decor is bit dated but I guess that is Tuscan style.. pasta by far was best we’ve had and steak was absolutely perfect!! Service was decent n I would say prices r reasonable as well
Just trust me. Go there. You won’t regret it!!
I ordered the pork cutlet, and my husband ordered the rabbit, two common dishes we’ve seen on menus in Florence. Both were absolutely disgusting. Mine was almost all fat, I was able to pull out, perhaps three forkfuls of meat, see picture. My husband had the same experience, his dish was all fat and very little rabbit.
After dinner, when my husband try to speak with the restaurant owner about being yelled at, he could care less. I don’t know what was said in Italian, but it was obvious by the hand gestures that chose to ignore us and we were shooed out of the restaurant.
Me and my husband are in our mid-50s and mid 60s respectively. We’ve traveled extensively and we enjoy visiting new places, trying to foods and getting to know the local people and culture. Restaurants play an important role as ambassadors. If you are looking for great Tuscan cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, keep looking, this isn’t the place, not by a longshot.
