Was passing through and stop by. Was one of the best experiences I had in a while. The atmosphere was warm and accepting. Was treated with a warm welcome with accommodating menus and beer. The soup was amazing . The conversation was amazing. The beer was cold and will keep me coming back. This will be my new spot to stop at on my breaks. The menu was money friendly and everything was priced just right. I will recommend this spot to everyone to go and try. Thanks for having me and service was 10/10.

Great food and people. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and signage is small but I assure you it’s worth finding. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area on their way to Garden of The Gods.

Persephone Grae’s Cafe relocated! Everything was delicious #veggiebreakfast #baconandeggs #yummyyummy
Don’t let the outside fool you – not much to look at from the parking lot – go in!! So glad to see this yummy option on the west side! And the juices are fantastic too!

We bought a breakfast burrito without meat and it was 95% potato and a tiny sliver of egg and cheese. The lady charged me 5.99 for a side of green chili when they charge 3.99 to smother it. We wanted to green chili on the side. Not worth it for a $21 breakfast burrito.
Your lack of customer service is evident by your response. We will not be coming back here again. The green chili was not good either.

Tried this restaurant for the first time today and was blown away by the food and service. I’m very sensitive to gluten, the owner Lyman had many gluten free options and very aware of cross contamination. This will be our new place for breakfast and lunch. It has only been in this location a month so don’t be turned off by the outside as they are still working on the aesthetics. Loved the Rueben sandwich and cucumber salad. And his chili was so very flavorful I couldn’t stop eating it. I will be back for sure.

I have to start off by saying I feel like a dirty cheater because I cheated on my normal Reuben spot today. But I think i found a new Reuben spot. The corned beef is the perfect flavor. Sorry other place, its over. The staff is freaking awesome. It’s cute inside. And the food is SOO GOOOOOD. It was prepared super quick, the person working the counter made us feel super taken care of. I wanna hug all these people. And it makes me so happy to see a new place that’s tasty and cool in that spot. Go support these local peeps!!

I got the breakfast platter. Food was of great quality! The only thing I will say is that the home fires were so delicious and crispy but only give a very small amount I had to ask the server for more but she was so friendly and brought me a small bowl with a more reasonable portion. Would definitely come back!

In the middle of the Manitou Springs tourist glut called “the Loop” is this unassuming cafe in a prime location, North facing patio is out of the sometimes direct and intense sunlight. Its easy to think this place is called the Barker House cafe because it comprises the ground floor of the Barker House apartments, but closer inspection of the signage identifies as Persephone Grae’s cafe with an every day happy hour beginning at 2pm. This equates to $1 off alcoholic beverage or a free serving of homemade chips with purchase of 2 alcoholic beverages. I only saw beer and wine on the menu, so don’t be expecting a full bar. The location and large ‘seat yourself’ patio tables at this casual place reward visitors blessed with good timing with a great (and shaded) view of the parade of classic cars, motorcycle clubs, and wandering tourist families that are a constant spectacle during nice weather weekends. If you visit, you MUST get the generously sized bowl of green chile! It is larger than expected and so delicious! Available in vegan or with pork, they are famous for this regional specialty that they stew for 72 hours before letting it be served. Worth the wait, I tell you! The staff here and the order at counter service give an air of being like a collective or volunteer organization, only two people working to cover the register, serving, and preparing food on a busy Sunday. Everyone was really friendly and had good vibes that I know I personally would have a hard time maintaining in the face of an endless stream of Sunday tourists. You are to be commended, all of you, for your great attitudes and service! The food was excellent and very reasonably priced for such a touristy concentrated area where across the street they are gouging the public with $8 ice cream scoops and $3 cans of soda. We had the green chile with pork that was shredded and stringy (instead of the traditionally chunky) inside the most uniquely flavorful chile soup that I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve had green chile all over the four corners! We also had a roast beef and cheddar sandwich with horseradish sauce on a terrific roll that was everything described on the menu, delicious! Topped off with two cans of Laughing Lab Scotch Ale got us those free happy hour homemade chips, and that was totally worth it! Crisp and light, not overseasoned, my son inhaled practically the entire bowl. This is the second place in as many days that I visited that is pushing the local Red Leg brewery beer, and I am just not a fan. Glad they had an alternative choice in the other local fav Laughing Lab. All in all this place was a hidden gem that we were happy to discover!

Had a Reuben sandwich w/ gluten free bread, marinated cucumbers and cup of tortilla soup. All was delicious. Such a quaint quiet restaurant, comfortable to sit and chat. Lyman the owner chef was so accommodating and friendly. This is a diamond in the rough. Will be back for breakfast.

They have gluten free bread – it doesn’t say so on the menu but they do!
We came for happy hour, they give you house made chips and ranch (also made in house) with two alcoholic beverages at happy hour. The chips and homemade ranch were both lovely. I had the steak and cheese sandwich on gf bread and it was very good. The wine is by the can so it’s a great deal. Mimosa flight with their fresh juice was super tasty (Bella recommended guava with a splash of cran and we approve!).
You order at the counter, Bella was working for our visit and she was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great little place!
