This was our second time visiting this restaurant and, again, the food did not disappoint. Our table had a variety of items including cornbread, steak with truffle fries, a salad with grilled chicken and the fish tacos with salt and vinegar chips. Also had their house red wine and it was good. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining. Inside, the bar is in the dining room and it is pretty loud and made it harder to hear everyone at the table. Something that is pretty nice is the bar opens to an outdoor bar and sitting area. It was pretty cold outside but the restaurant had heaters. Despite the cold, this area was being utilized and enjoyed by the clientele. We’ve also been here for brunch and again, the food was excellent. Definitely need to have Perla on the list of restaurants to visit in the Wilmington area.

Came on a crowded Saturday night & was happily surprised that we instantly got seated. The restaurant looked nice and clean. The waitress was kind and attentive.
Had the tuna tartare and it was so delicious. I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It’s one of the best dishes I’ve tried in Wilmington. The dish was cohesive and every component was very flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve ever had.
We also had the flounder, which was great. Flounder itself isn’t very flavorful, but the seasoning and other elements of the dish really made it nice.
My only regret is that I didn’t discover this restaurant sooner.

Stopped in for a lite dinner and drinks on a Saturday night around 6:30. Since they don’t take reservations, we used the call-ahead feature two hours prior, which worked perfectly—we were seated immediately with no wait.
The food and drinks were the highlight. We ordered the Hugo Spritz tower for the table, which was amazing, and the Seafood Tower was just right for what we needed. The Perla Oysters were definitely the favorite!
Our server was very nice, but the experience ended on a weird note. We felt awkwardly rushed when we were approached multiple times (twice by the server and once by the host) to clear our table while we were still actively eating and drinking. We eventually agreed to consolidate the tower, but the pressure to turn the table put a damper on an otherwise great evening. Business is business I suppose.

Perla has quickly become my favorite dinner spot every time I’m in Wilmington. From a chef-driven perspective, it’s one of those rare places where technique, restraint, and soul all live in perfect balance.

The oysters are consistently pristine, the mussels are the best I’ve ever had — deeply flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the kind of dish you think about long after the table’s been cleared. The ceviche was clean, bright, and thoughtfully composed, and the tuna was exactly as I remembered from my first visit — precise, confident, and unforgettable enough to bring me back again.

What I love most is how fresh and light everything feels while still delivering real depth. Each dish allows the ingredients to speak, making it possible to taste your way through the menu and experience multiple expressions of the kitchen without palate fatigue. That kind of clarity only comes from a chef who truly understands both product and restraint.

The food feels like home to me — reminiscent of Charleston in all the right ways — and it’s the kind of cooking that instantly creates loyalty.

Chef Jon and Jasmine, thank you for turning a meal for my mom and me into something far more meaningful than dinner. You created a memory, and that’s the highest compliment I can give. Perla will be a must-stop on every Wilmington trip going forward.

Perla is busy, run fairly factory-like. Big crowds, with families early and lots of groups. Beautiful decor, good vibe.

We sat at the outside bar and there seemed like alot of regulars who get more attention from the bartenders. In general, the place is loud. Happy hour oysters for $1 is a deal and they were tasty, but take a little while to get. We got lots of nibbles as well, chickpea salad is pretty much a bowl of chickpeas with herbs and dressing, so fair warning. Fish and chips were tasty with a thick crunchy batter. Menu is not huge. Prices trend high for food and drinks, so the bills adds up, but it seems like a high rolling crowd.

Downside for us is we were overcharged an extra round of drinks and when we pointed it out, the bartender came back with a “corrected” bill, but nary a sorry or acknowledgement of the error. I hate that was the closing note on the night.

We’ll go back and try some different menu items, but will also review our bill before paying.

One of our favorite spots to eat in Wilmington , their seasonal seafood stew is one of my all time favorites , we also really enjoy their “Baked” oysters and cornbread as a starter before diving into one of their main courses. My only continuous complaint is the noise. I feel like I’m back in middle school in the cafeteria. Some sound absorbing walls, carpets etc would be welcomed to help cut down on all the noise. Outdoor seating is our preferred option but weather is not always cooperative.

New favorite restaurant in Wilmington – very flavorful and delicious food, great vibes, friendly service and a great location. Only thing I was disappointed is that they had a minimum amount of single oysters you could purchase and if you are not going during their weekly specials, it’s around $4 per oyster.

Had dinner last night, oysters, IPA, shrimp tacos and shrimp burger. Really good DJ playing. We had our dog with us on the patio. Loved it!

I came by myself and sat at the bar to try the food along with a drink. I was relatively quickly spoken to and asked how I could be helped. I ordered the Honeybee drink, which I wasn’t in love with personally but it was a solid good drink with a unique taste. The cornbread is delicious with butter melting within/underneath it, with a nice apple butter sauce to pair with it (you may want extra sauce). The salmon was delicious when paired with the orange colored sauce on the plate. You can’t go wrong with the truffle fries coupled with the garlic aioli.
