It’s been a while since we visited Perkz, so we decided to try again. Was not disappointed! The service was top notch (thank you ladies!) and the food was delicious. I like jerk seasoning, so decided to try the jerk wings. They were cooked perfectly, but the jerk was a little too sweet for me. It wasn’t bad at all though. I did try the BBQ and WOW!!! BEST flavored BBQ in the county!! No sauce needed. I also, hereby declared Perkz French fries to be the BEST of Caldwell! Will not be my last trip there.

The coffee itself was good, though the wait was slightly longer than expected during the morning rush. Staff stayed friendly and kept things moving, which helped. Once my drink arrived, the quality made the wait feel reasonable.

Food was served quickly. It was delicious. The people working were friendly and seemed to really enjoy working there. This is a local neighborhood family friendly place. There was even a table full of firefighters chowing down. We know their rep for loving good chow!

Great little Diner style restaurant the food is awesome. The pork has a nice smokey flavor and the portion sozes are amazing, you wont leave hungry. Prices are decent for the amount of food. Would recommend trying this place at least once. It wont disappoint.

I had Curtis cater my wedding on 09/30/23. It was absolutely perfect!!! Curtis brought a charcuterie tray, cake, cupcakes, and a huge dinner for my wedding of 85 people. He also did the DJ part as well. The food and cake was delicious and the music was perfect!!!!! I will use Perkz for and and every event!!!!

I have been here several times with my coworkers for lunch and figured it is time to write a review! We love Perkz! Personally, the bbq cheese fries and mac daddy burger are top tier! Love the service and they check on you often to make sure everything is good! I will attach the pic of my Mac Daddy burger because it was beautiful!

We arrived about half an hour before closing (something I tried never to do, but it was an extenuating circumstance). The staff could not have been friendlier. We were seated promptly, and our orders taken. Drinks arrived quickly. Food was incredible! Good ol’ Southern-style home cooking! Everything was full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. Nothing was bland. The servers kept our drinks filled and ensured our orders were to our liking. Perkz may be an hour and a half away from my home, but it is definitely worth the trip. I’m already looking forward to my next meal there.

Perkz Café is a neat little restaurant that has excellent food and friendly hospitality. Our motorcycle group went there for lunch, and all 10 of us enjoyed our meals and had excellent service. The owner stopped by to tell us a little about their menu items and about the place.
They had a good volume of business while we ate.

I offer the above equation to explain that I have visited Perkz twice and had two different dining experiences. The first time I had a burger and it was very bland. In addition, the fries were also cold and tasteless. Unless you count the taste of old freezer.
So why go back?
Before I left, I asked if I could sample the bbq, and my server indulged me. I detected real potential, so I returned a couple of weeks later and had a bbq plate. It was delicious! IT ACTUALLY HAD SMOKE! In addition, it was tender and juicy. One of the better bbqs I’ve had. The baked beans were good, and the hushpuppies had an excellent flavor (but were undercooked). The cole slaw was average. Service was slow, but that is not always a bad thing.
A 4 and a 2. That’s a 3.
So if you’re in Lenoir and want a burger, go to Carolina Burger. If you go to Perkz, stick with the bbq.
