The service was excellent. My food was not. A simple burger came out slow, well, after the rest of the table was served. It was way under cooked; the cook came out and apologized in person. That goes a really long way. They took it off of the bill, too. This is a great place for drinks and pool! We’ll be back.

Walked in with my dog, a man behind the bar yelled “Hey, there are no animals allowed in here”. He did say, I could leave the dog out front.
At that point, there was no way I was going to spend money there. It’s really too bad, he didn’t handle this correctly.
I was there three times last summer, and did see a very large dog in the bar dancing with the dog’s owner on the dance floor.
If the policy changed, that’s fine. There was absolutely no need to yell at me across the room. If he was engaged in something important, he could have sent the other person behind the bar to tell me that dogs were not allowed.
Someone needs to brush up on their hospitality and good business practice skills.

Old school pool bar with history and pictures in the wall. Ask the bartenders and they’ll tell you the story. Beautiful carved wooden bar back, supposedly original. Also has darts and live music on some nights. Bartendress was welcoming and pleasant, made us nice cocktails.

I’ve been coming to perks for a very long time, and while it’s changed hands a couple of times over the years, it’s always remained my favorite watering hole in the lost river valley. The staff is friendly, the beer is always cold, and the atmosphere is always light and lively.
If you’re in the area and you’re thirsty, stop in and wet your whistle. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent food & amazing down to earth staff. The new owners have brought new life to Perks & it is better than ever. By far the best hang out in the town of Mackay.

Very nice place and nice owners but advertising says open Sunday at 2:00. About 14 of us were going to go in to play pool and have drinks which would have made it worthwhile to be open. It’s hard to know when the place is open and when it’s not

Wouldn’t be a bad place but the local men harass the women to the point of violence and they didn’t treat an army vet well either.. I was under the impression it was under new ownership but the bars reputation still proceeds itself..

A fun and friendly local Mackay bar for visiting Boiseans. We loved getting to know some of the locals–and no smoking! Bartender Guy was welcoming and such a nice fellow.
