Kimberly was mine and my mother’s waitress tonight (11/1/25) and was absolutely wonderful! She was kind, attentive, and friendly.
The good was phenomenal! We had the pot roast (my tried and true) and the steak n peppers meals and they were both so good. We had the apple fritter skillet as well, and it was delicious.
The restaurant was clean, quiet, and the vibes were pleasant and calm which was wonderful to see. Perkins has been my favorite restaurant in Cloquet for years, and once again had proven why!

We had a party of 4 adults and went to perkins twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast the following day.
For dinner we had the pot roast 9/10 it was very solid and tasty.
Steak and eggs 7.5 the ketchup was added after! The steak was small, and the potatoes and eggs were a little bland but we’ll cooked.
The BBQ burger 6/10 the burger was okay, fries were not the best.
And the last item was a BLT sandwich with fries and gravy. 8.5/10. There was a solid amount of bacon, but the gravy was fatty.
For breakfast the next morning:
2 – scramblers 5.5/10 and 8/10 one individual really liked theirs, the other said it was greasy.
A breakfast burger with fries 8/10. It was a very good burger, the egg and bacon in this burger was perfect.
The last item was a classic breakfast. 6/10 It comes with sausage, bacon, and a larger sausage that’s cut in half. The larger sausage no one liked but the rest was good. Sunny side up eggs were cooked well.
The service was good and the restaurant was clean.
The overall I’d give the experience a 7/10

We always go to Cloquet Perkins because they never disappoint. HOWEVER. Last nite, 5:30 p.m 11/4/25. Ordered American omelet with sausage, mushrooms, and cheese. Came with sausage and green peppers and cheese. The waitress did bring out the correct one shortly. Also was ordered a senior menu cheeseburger and a salad. Came with fries instead of a salad. Did shortly receive the salad. I took the wrong omelet home and started eating it this a.m.; there was pieces of hard green pieces …. of something. Didn’t figure it out what it was. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! Felt sorry for the waitress. She had a bad nite. ….. M.E.K.

I really love their breakfast, pies, muffins and desserts. Hostess was nice, and waitstaff, had meatloaf, burger and fries. The breakfast really is the best thing going there.

Jillian. She was our waitress, not once but twice. Such a kind and uplifting soul. My husband ordered the build a breakfast with pancakes and I ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. The food is outstanding. We also stayed at the AmericInn and you get ten percent off your Perkins order when you stay, so it was a really nice experience.

Had a burger with fries, the taste was ok but they were not hot enough my wife’s baked potato was warm at best. Perkins needs to make sure they do something about it.

Perkins is fine for the occasional breakfast place, but we just got turned away during their working hours because they were doing some carpet cleaning. Pretty disappointed. We are super hungry!
