My husband has a coupon for Wednesdays. It is buy one get one if you order something to drink. Our food has never disappointed us. Today they had a special on the pies, so we ended up with one of those delicious babies as well. Our waitress was very friendly and took very good care us. Yes we will be back to try out something else!

We were immediately greeted politely and seated per our preference (booth). Moments later our waiter arrived to ask for drinks and promptly brought them. Service was attentive and fast. From ordering food, to plates cleared, to our check. Our waiter aloof, but did her job. Our appetizer, strawberry crispers, arrived with hidden toothpicks, which my husband had to pull out of his mouth after biting into it (the crisper was already cut in half, so this was quite a surprise to find a full toothpick). The other crisper was whole and the toothpick was hidden on the bottom with a couple millimeters sticking out that I only saw because I was looking for it after my husband found his. Otherwise, were tasty. Our food arrived and the fries were lukewarm, my sandwich had only one side of the six sides with a condiment (leaving it quite dry and fairly tasteless), and my husband found a hard bit in his country skillet putting him off the food. While we were eating, a nearby patron was blasting music (over the music playing in the restaurant) and then switched to streaming a show. We heard a staff member yell, “I hate it when it is slow!” After eating, we promptly paid (yes, we still tipped generously) and left. We won’t be putting this on our “go to” list.

Our server, Alyssa, was absolutely amazing today! Bless her soul and heart — she was kind, funny, and wonderfully patient with my mom and dad (and with me, too). Both of my parents are going through personal challenges right now, and Alyssa’s warmth and kindness truly made a difference.
Her genuine laughter, compassion, and easygoing attitude made our meal a joy. She smiled with her eyes, answered every question with care, and managed to be attentive without hovering — that’s a rare skill!
The food was hot, cooked exactly as we requested, and delicious. Thanks to Alyssa, what could’ve been a stressful meal turned into a relaxed, happy, and memorable celebration. We’ll definitely be back!

This was our first time experiencing a Perkins Restaurant. We made a stop here for breakfast during brunch hours. They had a great selection of food and dessert. They even had a buy three get three on cookies, muffins and brownies. We ordered a skillet and a breakfast burger with tomato basil soup which was delicious. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Bathrooms were clean which is great when you’re in a road trip. We would definitely stop here again if we were in the area.

This is my first experience dining at the Perkins in Waterloo and I couldn’t have gotten a better waitress! Ashley was very accommodating and punctual with her service and I am very happy to have had such a positive experience! The food was great and the restaurant was clean and very welcoming.
