The food was amazing, we came at 8 pm in a weather advisory and where was only one waitress and she was quick, got our orders perfect and was very friendly!! By far the best service I’ve had at a Perkins in a while and I will be coming back to this location! Our server was Alyssa E and she was amazing!

I wanted to share my wonderful experience at Perkins West Des Moines. Greeted warmly and enthusiastically as soon as I entered the building. Led to a comfortable booth, clean floors, organized table top, made me feel right at home. My server welcomed me and made me feel like I was valued as a guest. She suggested the new French Silk cold brew as a drink and I took her up on it. It was delicious and looked very appealing when it was presented to me. I decided on the burger fry and pie combo as my meal. The food came out very quickly, and was nice and hot, burger cooked perfectly, fries seasoned well and the taste of the food was excellent. My server suggested apple pie ala mode for my pie and that sounded great. A very attractive choice and it was the perfect touch to finish my meal. Top notch service, great tasting food!! The staff overall was pleasant and friendly. They seemed to enjoy taking care of guests and they all worked together to make sure that all the patrons in the restaurant were cared for. Impeccable experience, it really made my day and I definitely will be returning to this wonderful location!!

My family and I have eaten at this Perkins for both breakfast and dinner. We had great food as well as great service. The restaurant was very clean and had a great welcoming atmosphere. The host greeted us very quickly and with a great smile and sat us where we asked to be seated. The waitress was very attentive to our table. The restaurant was busy but it did not effect the service nor the quality or timely manner of our food. The GM was walking around and helping the employees as well as stopping to talk to customers. We will definately be back.

The experience was okay. Had been here for a morning brunch. The waiter hardly checked on us. We had ordered omelette and since we do not consume bacon had asked to swap it for chicken but unfortunately found a piece of bacon and it was disappointing.
However, their blueberry bash was super yummy and a must try.

I went to this Perkins with my kids the other night and it was a fantastic experience! Warm and friendly greeting, efficient service. My server Julie was very kind and treated my kids with respect and engaged them with eye contact. Julie knew her job very well and thoroughly seems to enjoy serving customers. Our food was hot delicious and timely. We took french silk pie home for dessert and WOW, was it tasty! The restaurant was clean inviting and we will definitely be back!!

I think Perkins is hitting the point where it is pricing out of the category. For what I spend here, I could go to a nicer place. Much better salads across the street at Culver’s.
Update: the salad thing is still true, but Perkins can’t be beat for breakfast. I just had the magnificent 7, and it was great. Eggs, sausage, and pancakes. Good variety, good portion size, good price, and great taste.
The AC was a little too cold.
My boyfriend ordered water without ice, but got ice anyway -typical.

Stopped in for MLK Day lunch and I was extremely impressed. Great service, delicious food, welcoming staff, friendly waitress. Vivian was very accoomodating and attentive to my needs. Took great care of me!! Clean bathrooms, pleasant restaurant, very enjoyable experience. I definitely will be back!!

I made an order for delivery and it didn’t go well. I ordered a ‘make your own’ breakfast with two eggs sunny-side up, two strips of bacon, hash browns, a banana nut mega muffin and an orange juice.
The order took less than 30 minutes to receive (I’m in a hotel next door). The Uber Eats driver was great, and went above and beyond to help when we realized that Perkins didn’t provide utensils, napkins or the condiments. He returned to Perkins and brought back some utensils and napkins for me.
The eggs seem like they were cooked over a low heat. The whites are so barely set that they and the yolk have the same consistency. Unfortunately, with being so close to raw, there wasn’t enough heat to make the journey out of the restaurant to me without arriving at room temperature. Hash browns and bacon were room temperature as well, and missing the condiment. The banana nut muffin top was dried out and hardened, and again, missing the condiment ordered with it.

Tonight was the second time that service was denied us at this location. The first time, we were actually seated by the host with an attitude about us being there at 10 pm. When we told our server we just wanted pie and coffee, we were informed that the kitchen was shutting down, the coffee pots had been cleaned. When we asked why, since the restaurant closes at midnight, we were told it had been slow so they were closing early. On a Saturday night!
We have this store a year before attempting to go in after we’d been out tonight. It was 10 pm (another Saturday night), the host sighed heavily and actually ignored us until 10:09…at which time I left the restaurant. I could see he had 5 tables, that he was the only one waiting tables, and 3 other employees were sitting in a booth by the kitchen. This kid went to that table and threw himself into the booth…I could hear him bitching that he didn’t want to seat us because he wanted to go home.
I’ve had it with Perkins in general. Their prices are ridiculous for the area, the managers and the staff either ignore you or get all snotty about waiting on you, and the only really decent thing they have on the menu is the coffee. That’s a personal opinion about the coffee.
It takes incredibly crappy service or miraculously wonderful service to get me to review ANYTHING. If that brat’s mission was to drive away business, mission accomplished. I’ll tell every person I know to avoid Perkins.
