Used to love going to Perkins with my Grandparents as a little boy, but unfortunately not to baby of them left. Went here for dessert and coffee, mainly because I wanted to surprise my wife with her Valentines Day gift and knew she’d be caught off guard here. The hostess crew and our waitress all got involved and helped me to pull it off perfect!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better group of servers or a better ending to our night!!! If they still served their perch dinner, we’d go here more frequently.

Great place! We started going to this Perkins even though we live on the opposite side of town because the staff is friendly, the food is great and the service is spot on. It’s right near my wife’s doctor’s office so when she has a doctor’s appointment we make to stop into Perkins for lunch (although we almost always order breakfast). This past week I had the steak and eggs and my wife had the French toast. Jordyn was our server and she was great. I appreciate their kitchen because when I order my steak rare, I get a nice juicy rare done steak. The food was tasty as always and service was very quick. Their coffee always hits the spot and we appreciate getting a carafe at the table as my wife and I are big coffee drinkers. We also got some baked good to go while chatting with manager. My wife got the carrot cake – the serving was huge and she had to cut it into two pieces and eat it over two days because it was so rich. I got a blueberry muffin which never disappoints and tried some of their chocolate chip cookies which were as good as any bakery in Dayton. If you’re up on the North side, stop into Perkins. You won’t be disappointed.

Today I stopped to order breakfast today at Perkins. When I walked in the young a white hostess her name was Anna was helping a white family as l stood behind them once she seated them I stood there alone in the lobby and she came back and she didn’t even acknowledge my presence as if I was a ghost. About 20-30 seconds later another couple walked in as I’m still standing there as she says how can I help you to the other couple. I then say to her you don’t see me she didn’t respond and another young lady who I didn’t get her name looked at her a saw what happened and was quick to help. I spoke with her manager who stated she will address the situation by the way I’m a African American male and I will never step foot in this place again I have never felt so disrespected in my life. I’m not trying to make this a racial matter but the young lady definitely had a issue with me for no reason and she should not be working in any public place.

I enjoy the breakfast menu but my concern is that im not able to place an online order on the weekends. It use to be sundays, but now it’s Saturdays and Sundays. Why is that? I could come in and place an order but i dont feel like waiting there for 20 minutes especially when the waiting room gets crowded. I just want to be able to come in and grab my food and go.

Went here for a nice warm breakfast this morning after a appointment at the doctors. 3 of us go in get a seat back by the kitchen door.
The waiter was friendly but did not tell us to pay at the front door as we were leaving. I asked as I was leaving . Don’t know her name but she was very rude and did wait for my return which took less then a minute. She said you ran off I said I had to go get the money off of my table where I left it with the tip. Will never eat here again.

This time wasn’t a good experience, granted it was busy…..but the food wasn’t as good this time. my fiance skillet didn’t have any tater tots and way too much ham!!! My meat wasn’t cooked WELL DONE like I requested. Our server was nice but she only came to the table three times…..and we had to wait forever to get the check so we could pay.

But this place is a dump, sticky handprints all over the window and booth, cold food, disgusting bathrooms and a green price tag in my mashed potatoes.
Multiple items were ordered weren’t prepared and we had to order alternatives.
Honestly, the manager needs to take action and fix this place up or quit.
Also… went to pay cash, NO CASH IN THE DRAWER FOR CHANGE

Our waitress was Natalie and she was absolutely on point at every step of the process, and the hostess/cashier Jacqueline was great too. Both very welcoming, personable and friendly. 5 stars for them!
The onion rings were delicious, perfectly cooked (shout out to the kitchen team for that) but the patty melt was just OK. The oversized bread was nicely grilled, but the “USDA Angus” patty definitely could’ve been juicier and should have had more flavor. And the cheese ugh. It seemed like cheese product rather than 100% cheese.
The cream pies were pretty good.
Lastly, the restroom is scary old. The carpeting needs a good cleaning.
I hope to update my ratings as things are addressed and improve!
