I ordered an orange scone that was good, but it wasn’t that exceptional. I’m sure you could find a better one elsewhere for a cheaper price. I ordered a hazelnut oatmilk latte that was bitter and didn’t taste like the hazelnut syrup. I was fortunate enough that the barista gave me another pump for free but it still was just a regular latte, nothing special. My mom ordered a macchiato that was absolutely disgusting! It was extremely bitter, and did not have true proper amount of milk in the coffee; it was also undrinkable and no amount of sugar could make it better. The place itself is really mess at and dirty and the table that we sat at had a used dental pick floss on the floor. They also didn’t have any napkins. Overall, very overrated and overpriced. Go somewhere else.

Always amazing coffee and great snacks. Sandwiches are great, but the yummy baked goods cannot be beat. Always a ton of vegan options!

Adorable coffee shop with great seasonal drink specialties and house-made syrups. Lots of rotating baked goods and plenty of vegan options. They also sell local goods and have a gallery wall that features a different local artist every month. There’s a kids’ area in the back with a table, chairs, toys, and books. Can be crowded on weekends.

One of the BEST coffee shops in RVA! Welcoming staff and atmosphere who care about their community and patrons. I have always had a fantastic experience and food and beverage has been consistently outstanding. You will not be disappointed!

Great place to have a coffee. Quirky, cozy ambience. Kids area in the back with toys and books! My one knock is attention to detail. The menu items are great. I was disappointed though on just our second visit to receive a ham and cheese sandwich without any ham and TWO turkey bacon avocado wraps both without any avocado. (Attaching a photo of my receipt.) If you’re going to charge your customers for add-ons and/or premium ingredients, deliver it as written. Very simple.

I have been going to Perk for years and it is one of my favorite most cherished coffee spots in the area. The coffee is amazing, the food and sweet treats are wonderful (especially the vegan options!), the ambiance and decor are always on point! But, what really makes Perk so special is the people who work there! They always take the time to make your visit memorable and they really are the heart of the establishment! So thankful to have such a wonderful place in our community!

Stopped in on a Sunday morning, it was sort of busy but we were able to immediately order and get a table. We ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk (it was good) and an iced dirty chai (it was very sweet maybe made with a syrup but still good). We also got the breakfast sandwich which totally slapped and turkey bacon wrap that was good. The atmosphere was unique and cozy. There was a lot of staff and they were all very kind / helpful! Overall good experience!

Definitely adding Perk! to my list of favorite coffee shops in Richmond as I continue my quest for the perfect cup of matcha! I especially love that this one is in Bon Air, closer to where I live, so it’s amazing to see a queer-friendly, inclusive coffee shop spreading joy outside of downtown and into the suburbs.
The pricing here is also unbeatable. Two coffees and two bagels came out to about $20 (around $10 a person). Their everything bagel is to dieeee for, and I love all of the unique syrup/flavoring options they offer for your coffee/matcha. Plenty of seating inside, super welcoming vibes, and I could definitely see myself bringing my laptop here to work for a while.
If you’re looking for a new spot to try, definitely come support this amazing coffee shop!

Really not much to commend this place. The staff did not know any details about the coffees and espressos they sold. They toasted the bagel on my bacon egg and cheese bagel but the bacon and egg still were refrigerator cold. My wife’s pimento cheese bagel was not the type of bagel she ordered, and when they fixed the order with the proper bagel, they used two bagel bottoms, instead of the same bagel.
The seating area was a mess with open containers and trash cans. Tables had not been wiped.
This was our second visit after our first visit was equally as poor. We won’t be making a third visit.
Two stars instead of one because the coffee, at least, was palatable and our cashier was the one person with an upbeat attitude..

Ordered a bagel lox and hot americano to go! Overall the food and coffee were delicious, I really want to try their other menu items!
Bagel was a good ratio of cream cheese and lox. The tomato was surprisingly thick but I liked it! The cream cheese had good flavor with the capers and onions. I wish the bagel wasn’t super toasted but you can request on the instructions 🙂
I came early and they accommodated my request to change from iced to hot americano. The people were a vibe and super friendly, would def recommend and come back again!
