Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked into the space, I was impressed. The decor and ambiance is so warm and cozy, and truly prepares you for a warm culinary experience. Now the food is next level, the team at Perima’s truly made the vision of South India meets worldly cuisine to life. My favorite dishes were: the paniyaram with chutneys, idhiyapam and coconut stew, uttapam tacos, and banana doffle. Def pay Perima’s a visit!!

Three of us ate here on two separate nights, and on both occasions the food was absolutely fantastic. Beautifully cooked food, amazing flavours and creatively presented. The staff are great and the service is very attentive. They helped us navigate the menu (we are from the UK so not totally aware of all the Indian dishes) so that we were confident in our selection. If you are in the area it’s well worth a visit – you won’t be disappointed.

Ideal variety in a small menu. You will not miss out on anything. Excellent fusion of fave foods from the south with everything that’s mouth wateringly tasty today! Do try the Podi Prawns, the Mutton Riast with Malabari Paratha, the Andhra Chicken Burger and any of the deserts!

Excellent South Indian fusion food. Portion sizes are less but taste is great.
We loved the mutton avocado uttapam, as well as the idli with the delicious ginger chutney with white butter. Pure culinary indulgence. But the buttermilk icecream with curry leaves was a real show stopper. Loved it. Would want to visit soon.

Newly opened south indian place going beyond the idli-dosa. Neatly tucked away in one of the residential lanes of south kolkata it has a smart interior with channapatna toys and kolam inspired wall decor. The bar section will be opening soon and the food menu is at the moment is a small but good selection. We tried the nannari soda, mutton pepper fry with malabar porota, peeyajkoli fritters, urulai masala burger, uttapam tacos and banana doffle. The outstanding dishes were the mutton pepper fry (5/5) and uttapam tacos (5/5). The quality of mutton was so so good. Will be back to try more.

The sweetest service and the chef told us so much about the food and the inspiration behind it, a rare and unmatched experience in Kolkata. Keep it up! Good stuff. Food and quality of food equally top notch

Kolkata’s new eateries have become painfully predictable. Same dishes, same created/bought hype, same Instagram setups.
Real comfort + good food + actual conversation? Almost extinct.
(Honestly, the last genuine breath of fresh air was #SoyYum, almost two years ago)

And then #Perima’s on Rowland Road happened. Very recently and thankfully!! A genuinely refreshing change!
No overdone fusion, no trying-too-hard gimmicks. Just comforting South Indian food with a gentle modern touch. #AkshayRamani, with his very first project, has got the formula spot-on.

Millet Idli, Sidewalk Chicken, Mutton Pepper Fry, Andhra Chilli Chicken Burger… everything was so good I forgot to take pictures until halfway through. Loved the Sol Kadi as well.
But the Butter Milk Ice Cream?
Totally unexpected. Next Level. Clear winner.

Great hospitality, compact menu, slightly veg-heavy. Hoping for a few more non-veg additions for people like me who will definitely be returning soon!

A truly great meal. Will be back with a bigger gang.

Overall, very average food, not worth it.
Not recommended!

Location:
On Rowland Road, the road opposite to Elgin Road on Sarat Bose Rd crossing.

Ambience:
Was totally empty when I entered in the evening.
Large tables, well lit, comfortable seating.

Service:
Quite prompt.
Filtered drinking water available.
Wifi available.
Clean washroom.

Ordered:
* Sol Kadi: made with kokum juice, coconut milk, black pepper, green chillies. Quite refreshing and well made. Rs 225.
* Rasam: small cup served complimentary. Nice warm drink, medium spicy.
* Chettinad Wings: served with Cream Cheese dip, medium spicy, did not have any punch in the taste, chicken was tender, okayish. Rs 475.
* Onion and Green Mango Fritters: served with spicy mayo dip. Two large pieces, this was like tasteless lumps, non spicy, no taste of green mango, did not like at all. Rs 275.
* Filter Coffee: overpriced for a regular cup, did not have the filter coffee strong flavour, below average. Rs 180.

The food is spectacular, it’s a new concept and I’m so glad calcutta has a place like this. Must visit for everyone, their utappam tacos, chicken Chettinad, mutton pepper fry and their podi masala prawns are their standout. Can’t wait to visit again
