We are so lucky to have multiple Perenn locations in Reno. I was driving from NW Reno to Rancharrah for the crispy potatoes and sandwiches and now I’m glad to have these options in Downtown. The quality was just as good as the other locations and the service was great. The young lady working behind the counter was making drinks, taking care of the large groups, and prepping door dash orders, it was pretty impressive. I highly recommend stopping by this location.

Nice light lunch at the newly opened Perenn at the Museum. Tuna sandwich on their incomparable Country Loaf with greens lightly dressed with a superb vinaigrette. Ok, not so light after my dessert- a chocolate bouchon, like a triple-chocolate cookie with a third dimension.

This place just opened so while this is a pretty negative review I will start with the positive. Also I will go back next month and try again after they’ve been open a bit.

Positive: most of the food was very tasty 3 of 4 dishes. The Turkish eggs, Kale Salad, Crunchy Breakfast Potatoes.

Tea and coffee were average. The cafe was maybe understaffed or undertrained as evidenced by lengthy wait time for drinks and almost 30 minute wait for food.

The child’s breakfast plate was one very cold scrambled egg plopped on an enormous plate with a cold croissant toast and a few lone sliced strawberries and a sliced piece of fig. Egg inedible. The fruit salad side was an oversized bowl with the ubiquitous sliced strawberries and sliced figs. Come on. There is a lot of lovely fruit in season and if it was going to be a cup size call it a cup.

The Turkish egg and kale salad ( both acceptable ) arrived at the same time as the child’s dish. When I went in search of salt and pepper (a true dilemma for the staff) I noticed our fourth dish of breakfast potatoes in the window waiting. I requested that they hand it to me so I could deliver to our table. While the child’s breakfast was on an enormous dinner plate the breakfast potatoes were falling off a much smaller plate.

We asked for two boxes for salad and potatoes. Engineering degree required to determine folding strategy. Finally gave up.

All in all for a birthday luncheon it was underwhelming. I feel sorry for the staff and our beautiful museum. I am thinking the Perenn group has now tried to do too much from too far away. Maybe stick to Tennessee where you can keep some quality control.

PS we were told potato dish was GF. Our GF member had a reaction so they could not have been so.

In a town with great coffee offerings this place does not disappoint.

The seating area was excellent, but the food was terrible. The price was too high.
