Update: They are now open Friday evenings. I can’t wait to try the new menu. (Also sorry about the photo, apparently I couldn’t wait a few seconds to take the picture. So yummy!)
The Sicilian pizza by the $3 slice is amazing! Best pizza around. The crust is thick but light and fluffy with olive oil and perfect amount of salt and high quality ingredients and the sauce is super tomato-y. It’s a very small business and if you want to order an entire pizza you have to preorder that morning or maybe the day before.

Peppino’s is an excellent neighborhood addition. I have been popping in for breakfast sandwiches and coffee frequently and they are quickly becoming my favorite. The grab and go breakfast sandwiches are great when you’re in a hurry. Don’t forget to grab a little side of hot sauce! I always enjoy the music selection and counter conversation when there. I hope to be more adventurous with the market items. Lot’s of interesting quality ingredients to try!

Peppino’s is a gem! Their Italian sub is outstanding. The spunky rolls are perfect, and it feels like authentic Italian. So glad to have a place like this in Melrose!

Tiny Italian deli and grocery near the Melrose/Wakefield line. You may have to park a block away, but it’s a cozy stop with cold chinotto waiting for you.

I just found this place, looks like it hasn’t been around too long. Great Italian sandwiches! Excellent bread and deli meats, and loads of peppery arugula. I’m really glad I found the place, I’ll definitely be back.

This store is such a wonderful addition to Melrose/Wakefield, and is owned by a very kind and lovely family. Great selection of Italian imports, pizzas, sandwiches, and will soon be offering a wide selection of imported Italian meats by the pound which is hard to find in this area.

Our first visit to Peppinos exceeded my expectations. Even though I’m Italian I don’t usually get Italian meat sandwiches so I was a little daunted by the choices but the Gianni sandwich was amazing. The service is a little slow but the owner/ chef is there making sure very detail is done right – and they will figure out the kinks I’m sure. Looks like they have coffee in the morning (just drip coffee) – I might drop by one morning and try it out.

I moved from Roslindale to Melrose earlier this year and have been searching high and low for an Italian that would come close to my precious Tutto Italiano in hyde park. I’ve eaten A LOT of Italians from all around Melrose and the North Shore but alas, nothing has compared. I’ve been to Italian markets, famous Italian sandwich shops and have eaten too many soggy bread rolls, aged cold cuts and mushy tomatoes. Peppino’s has ended my search once and for all. Their Italian is fantastic and so fresh! It was also clear that my sandwich was made with love by the owner himself. My mortadella was sliced so thinly that it melted in my mouth. I’m so glad I found you guys and can’t wait to spread the word. I also got a slice of their bacon and jalapeno Sicilian pizza and it was fantastic!!
