Stopped in Skagway for lunch and stumbled upon this food wagon. What a special gem this was to find. We had 4 “Street Tacos” (2 beef and 2 chorizo). OMG! Best tacos ever! Really enjoyed the pickled onion and cilantro on them too. My only disappointment is that we are just passing through on a cruise and will likely never have an opportunity to have these again. If you’re ever in Skagway, be sure to stop and give them a try! You certainly will be glad you did!

Okay LOOK. We drove from Arizona to Juneau so we know our Mexican food. This place has it DOWN. The food is immaculate, perfectly balanced and checks off all the boxes. We had a split party of vegan and not and both groups of people LOVED the food.

1) Vegan food & 2) non vegan food:!!
The tacos are a general build with a protein option, so I ordered the tacos with vegan chorizo and asked for it to be vegan so they kept off the non vegan garnishes (cheese) I also added a side of their green chili chimichurri to put on the tacos and I couldn’t
have been more satisfied. This place knocks it out of the park and I will 100000% go again before we leave!

1)
Sweet potato and tofu burrito (ordered vegan, so no cheese)
The burrito was jam packed with flavor, packed with food, and left my partner and I fighting for bitez

2) Non vegan foods:
The other part of our group got the bowls with chicken and barbacoa and they loved it! Even the person in our group who hates black beans cleared out his food with no complaints.

All in all, incredible food, cool people, and a great time!

Highly recommend. Just found this on Google maps and saw the reviews. Got away from all the cruise ship crowd and tried this place. Shrimp tacos rock. Looking at the snow covered mountains and having tacos. That’s living.

Yep, like the other reviewers have said, this is away from the cruise ship people, and very very good.

The only downside is you need good weather cuz it’s all outdoor seating. Otherwise very tasty food well prepared.

Wow. Check out this place. It’s was refreshing just to get a different taste for cruise food! We had the two tacos and a side. Chorizo and shrimp tacos and street corn. They were amazingly fresh and just hopped with flavor. The street corn had a cheese twist, which made it pop. The owner came out and spoke to all patrons like you were at a 5-star restaurant. Do yourself a favor and don’t pass up the Red Bus!!!!!

My wife and I ordered the street corn. The food was absolutely fantastic! Very tasty! The atmosphere was cool, everything was clean, I highly recommend trying this place out if you’re in the area. The owner has a very interesting story and is very kind to talk to.

On bicycle tour coming from the top of Alaska and I haven’t had a good burrito since being in California. All that I’ve had were skimpy poor excuses of “burritos” that were barely even wraps the whole way down— until stumbling across Peppers.

A burrito in the middle of Alaska that met more than my expectations. Great portion, tons of flavor, and great service. 5/5

Johnathan is originally from Tennessee and told me he was a chef down there for 20+ yrs and let me tell you, this dude knows his flavors. I didn’t expect to find good Mexican (fusion) food in Alaska but this is a must try if you are on a cruise or just visiting Skagway. It’s not authentic so don’t expect an entire elote slathered with mayo and cotija but it’s delicious nonetheless.

The homemade chorizo is outrageously good, it’s a perfect blend of flavor and heat without being a greasy mess like those Cacique tubes you buy at the supermarket. The elote isn’t on a stick but it’s just as delicious. And as always if the rice and beans are good then you know the chef knows how to make Mexican food and that is definitely the case here.

The location is convenient and not far from the main street. No dedicated seating but there is a standing table to place your food on. Service was quick.

Peppers is a must try for Mexican food in Skagway! Some of the better Mexican food I’ve had in Alaska, and it’s hidden here in this dope red bus. The guys taking my order were super friendly. I had the beef burrito and my wife had the lime chicken bowl, both of which were delicious. It’s a little pricey… but you get a LOT of good food for it.

I’m not a vegetarian but I had their vegetarian tacos with tofu and sweet potato and they were sooo good. The flavors were so on point that I didn’t even miss the meat. And I had the elote corn as a side, which was even better than the tacos! Definitely skip the tourist traps on the main street and come here instead, which is only a block away from the main street, easy walking distance from the cruise ships.
