My Apple Old Fashioned was made perfectly—balanced, smooth, and thoughtfully crafted. While my husband had a beer (easy enough), the care taken with my cocktail really stood out. We’ve paid far more at other restaurants for mediocre drinks, so the value here was refreshing and appreciated.
The entire staff worked seamlessly together and was incredibly attentive. If anyone noticed dishes on a table that needed clearing, they kindly took care of it on their way through. Our waitress was personable, kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely funny. She even wrapped my leftovers into the most adorable foil penguin, which made my night.
She shared that the chef makes everything from scratch and everything with love—and you could absolutely taste that in every dish. The atmosphere is beautiful and intimate, making it the perfect place for a date night. For the level of food, service, and ambiance, the price was more than reasonable.
Thank you to the chef and the entire staff for such a memorable and flawless dining experience. We can’t wait to return.
Fiancé ordered the Grilled New Zealand Lamb Lollipops. They were so tender and delicious and served with smashed sweet potatoes.
I got the Grilled Beef Tenderloin with a bason, molasses butter. It came with broccoli and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth.
We had a surprise Quartet suddenly appear and sing a cute love song. We really had a great Valentine’s Date.
We ordered an app the baked brie, it was really good.
We got salads with our meal and while we were told they were heavy on garlic they did not say it was a garlic salad with kale on the side. The croutons were so salty on top of that we couldn’t and didn’t even eat our salads. The server didn’t come to get the plates, another server walked by and offered to take them. When we tried to tell our server about the croutons and salad her response was “oh I am not sure about that”. Uh we are.
After the meals were brought and she came back to check our first bites we were in the process of telling her both our plates were cold and she interrupted us to tell us that she tried a crouton and it was salty so they will adjust the next batch and walked away. She did not come back until asking for boxes and getting check. She never even questioned why we weren’t eating our food.
We did take our food with us more so to give to someone else not specifically for us.
The other server, the gentleman who took our salads came up told us to have a good night and asked how our meal was. He was way more personable and interested in our experience. He was apologetic and sincere. I wish he had been our server. He was great!
*Also important to note they were NOT busy, there were two other tables while we were there.
We started with the baked brie appetizer. The center was creamy, but the pita chips were overcooked and excessively crispy, which detracted from the dish.
Both of us ordered the winter Caesar salad. The dressing was extremely garlic-forward, and the croutons were so heavily salted that they made your eyes squint and your lips pucker. The kale was not massaged, resulting in a rough texture and an overwhelming, heaping portion.
The bread basket arrived with whipped butter and very dense bread, which was difficult to enjoy.
For my entrée, I ordered the duck confit. The duck leg meat did not fall off the bone and was very dry, while the duck breast was chewy. The sweet potato, broccoli, and carrot were the best-tasting elements on the plate. However, the entire dish was served cold — the bone on the duck leg wasn’t even warm.
The second entrée was the salmon, which was also served cold and had a noticeably fishy taste.
Overall, this was a disappointing birthday meal. I would rate the experience a 2 out of 10 and would not recommend this restaurant.
