We stopped by as a last food stop before our long drive home so we had no idea they just had their soft opening! Service was great and they let us know about the wait times for certain menu items as everything is made fresh to order. We were told the chicken is like a cross between Asian fried chicken and Nashville Hot chicken – and it was! You get sauce options with the chicken but I barely used any as the chicken was flavorful enough. Medium heat was the perfect spice level for us.

The warm cinnamon apple custard was the unexpected show stealer- it was like a deconstructed apple pie topped with warm thick custard sauce (?). Would order everything again!

So I happened to visit this restaurant for the first time on 1-10-2026. Initially I was not looking for this place on my radar because I like original chicken not spicy like that. I was asked by my mom to take her to get her hair done at her beautician who shop is actually next door so once her appointment was over I returned to pick her up and I ended up next door. The cashier is very helpful and explained to me about the items available with menu. I opted for the original chicken sandwich and a order of tots. The sauce I got on the side is soy and honey mustard mix delicious along with the chicken sandwich and tots being delicious! One of the best chicken sandwiches I ever had! Compliments to the chef! Pull up and check them out. See for yourself definitely worth the trip not a disappointment!

Best tenders anywhere!

We got chicken tenders (no spice), fries, red beans, slaw, catfish sandwich (mild spice) and apple custard. Everything was really good!

The catfish sandwich is huge, fried perfectly and dressed with creamy tartar sauce and some out of this world pickles.

The (giant) chicken tenders are incredible. So juicy, so crunchy! They didn’t need dipping sauce, but I couldn’t resist the  Rooster sauce and the sweet and spicy sauce. Yum!

The red beans are smokey and flavorful.  The fries are delightfully crispy- fluffy. Their take on slaw is crunchy, fresh and just a touch sweet.

Oh and you gotta get the apple custard! Creamy, warm, soft custard with spiced apples and vanilla wafers. Its a perfect size to share, but once you get in there, you’ll want it all to yourself. I actually dont like apples OR custard, so I was stunned with how delicious this is!

Great food,  friendly staff, cute dining area and great location. Give them a try!

This is the best hot chicken I have had to date. It was spicy but not too spicy. The chicken had a great crunch on the outside and was juicy on the inside. It was a large piece of chicken breast too. I loved the toppings on the sandwich. They had it it out to us in 10 minutes which was very impressive. I highly recommend.

Best fried chicken in ATL! We came here on the first day of grand opening. The staff were very friendly. Fried chicken was crunchy on the outside while the inside meat was still tender and moist. It was the most flavorful fried chicken I’ve had. They had different spicy level. We picked the medium heat, and it was very spicy already.

The chicken was delicious. I ordered hot and did not know how spicy it would be. The ambience was great and the place is squeaky clean. The limeade was great and the allow unlimited refills. Definitely coming back.

Went in at about 11:15, which is just after opening and the store was empty was the only customer and was actually order number 1.

The space itself is nice. Not too big and well decorated, slight vintage appeal.

But let’s be honest we’re here for the food not the decor; and the lack of any salt in the food is crazy.

I ordered the Cajun fries thinking they would be “well seasoned” but it was just unsalted spicy seasoning!!

The chicken was just spicy with a tiny sweetness but zero salt. Unless I missed the sign that stated salt your own food yall missed on seasoning.

Thankfully on a whim i grabbed 2 salt packets on the way out but that barely took care of the fries. And the most diabolical part YALL GAVE ME THE BUTT END OF THE BREAD!!!

I’ve ate a lot of food and cook a lot of food. Serving someone the but end is absolutely insane!!! After the 20+ mins | waited no one could get salt or a real slice of bread?!?!

The “cook” claims it’s delicious or he covers the meal. Well this meal was not delicious and after making not of that they don’t reply.

While you can’t debate spice levels or preference no salt is no salt, and leaves the entire meal falling flat. Had I known the order time would have ordered in advance to dine in but made that mistake and had to take the food to go.

I can’t debate it was hot and freshly cooked. But that was where the satisfaction ended.

Update.

Refund was only offered after leaving a honest 2 star public review. Before leaving a public review they refused to reply on social media. Claiming they were not online when in fact they were active everyday because ig tells you when someone is online/or the last time they were.

He also claimed it was due to new staffing that I had a poor experience yet it was there “chef” Patrick who was the only person in the kitchen. So the main chef delivered a poor experience not a new employee.

After offering the refund he then used it as a bargaining chip/bribe and asked me to remove the review or update it with a higher rating for the $11 refund which instated I would not do because the poor experience was still accurate.

Personal opinion is proceed with caution and expect to salt your own food. If you have a poor experience they will offer ample excuses instead of take accountability

Pepper Roost is my to-go spot. The chicken is hot, crispy, and packed with bold, Asian-inspired flavor that’s not overpowering — just more layered and exciting than typical American hot chicken. The fries are crispy and perfect for dipping in their house-made sauces. I also love their sweet ginger slaw — it’s fresh, crisp, and the hint of ginger really takes it to another level.

Four stars overall, three stars for the food. Positives: the interior is bright and inviting, the prices are reasonable and the ordering process is pleasant. Negatives: I ordered a hot quarter $5.50 and an extra hot wing $3.95. The quarter had good flavor, but was very small. I’ve had larger drums on a wing. The wing was not much hotter and unnecessary sweetness was added so both were disappointing. That said, I’ll be back when they get their liquor license to try the tenders. One extra note: this is not Korean fried chicken nor is it Hattie B’s. It’s battered, hard fried, and seasoned, so I would say it’s a unique style.

I ordered a three piece, medium spice chicken tender with double fries with rooster sauce and ranch. As a ranch lover, the ranch was good but what sold me was the rooster sauce. It was sweet and spicy without it being too peppery. I loved it sooo much. The tenders were also not too spicy for medium and so I think the spice levels are accurate. I got pick up and the service was fast. I also loved the theme inside the restaurant and it is a good place to dine in!! I will say one thing I would’ve loved is dill pickles and not bread and butter pickles but that’s a preference. The fries were a little cold when I got home but I think if I were to dine in it would have been hot
