We had a really disappointing experience here. First, it took 40 minutes for the food to arrive. After 20 minutes of waiting, the server came over just to tell us the dal makhani we ordered wasn’t available, so we had to change our curry. Another 20 minutes passed, and when we asked why it was taking so long, he casually said the “curry chef is not available.” I still don’t know what that was supposed to mean.
After all that waiting, the food wasn’t worth it at all. Definitely not a good experience and not a place I’d recommend.

I ordered the **special chicken biryani** a couple of times last week. The taste was good overall, but the second time, the chicken pieces were noticeably dry.
I had requested a **spicier version** to see how they’d handle it. They added extra green chili pieces, which worked fine — though I’ve noticed that different restaurants approach spice differently: some add extra masala, others use more pepper powder.
What I’m really watching for is **consistency**. They used to have a branch in **Mount Laurel**, and I was disappointed multiple times with the food quality from that location. That branch has since closed, likely due to ongoing issues with consistency and quality.
I hope this current location maintains its standards — because when done right, their biryani is worth coming back for.

I don’t like Indian food too much. but my colleagues wanted to go to an Indian restaurant, so I just followed them without any expectations.
We ordered some spicy fried shrimp, mild goat meat, fried rice
and Gallic-nann, etc. Goat meat was a little bit spicy even though we ordered a mild taste, but the taste was so good for me.
All that we ordered menus were new to me. I realized some Indian foods are matching my favor. but generally, fried foods were too fried, and food colors were too dark brown. I don’t know if Indian people like this level of frying. but it feels like too much frying for me. or they might not have changed the oil regularly.
Anyway, I would like to recommend this restaurant for the beginner of Indian foods. Staff are very kind to customers.

Pepper House truly stands out for its food quality and excellent service. The biryani is exceptional—aromatic, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection with long, fluffy rice and well-marinated meat in every bite. The Chicken 65 is equally impressive, with a crispy exterior, juicy interior, and bold yet well-balanced spices. The Gobi Manchurian deserves special mention as well—perfectly fried cauliflower tossed in a tangy, spicy sauce that’s flavorful without being greasy. Adding to the experience, the staff is attentive and courteous, making the overall dining experience warm, smooth, and well worth a repeat visit.

Okay place for Indian food; there’s really nothing special, and there’s definitely better in the area. We tried the Idli and Chili Paneer, as well as a trio of vegetarian curries and naan. The naan was by far the best thing here. Other than that, the paneer wasn’t great, and the curries weren’t too flavorful. Atmosphere outdated and stale. Probably wouldn’t come again.

Appetizers and Biryani were amazing. Definitely worth it Staff are extremely friendly and kind. Portions are enough to split with 2 people for 1 dish. Kebabs are very delicious and juicy. Overall, A good and satisfying dishes to try. I would highly recommend. Hope it will continue to maintain good portions and quality over the time.

This place is a real find – one of the best Indian food places in NJ. Pepper House has a great ambience, lovely decor and great service. They have a small area cordoned of at the back for private events. The food is very tasty, each dish has its unique flavour and is cooked well, portion sizes are big and meant for sharing. And if you like your food hot and spicy, you can ask them to kick up the spice level a notch. On the Saturday afternoon I was dinning in, most of the orders were for pickup and delivery.

Food quantity and quality was very poor. Egg curry, malai kofta and Lal paneer had lots of heavy filling cream and not a lot of paneer, kofta balls and eggs. There was rougly 15 cubes of paneer that was eaten in maybe 8 bites. There were only 3 eggs in the egg curry, and 3 kofta balls! For 19 bucks an entree, this is unacceptable. In addition, the naan was very bad and obviously not fresh. Would not eat here again.
