Yesterday I decided to take my father out to dinner here, we’ve been a few times should be fairly simple right? Boy was I was wrong. We apparently showed up at the exact moment the entire town decided they, too, deserved pasta.
This place wasn’t just busy. It was at capacity, fire-marshal-counting-heads busy. The kind of busy where you start wondering if you should’ve packed a snack and a paperback novel. I’m pretty sure I saw a bartender doing hip thrusts while mixing a drink while we waited. It was a a zoo.
Everything took forever. I think my dad finished two full World War II anecdotes before the bread hit the table, and that man can tell a story in under five minutes when properly motivated.
BUT.
And this is important.
The servers Brigette, Amy, and Kaisa were absolute troopers. Running, smiling, apologizing, refilling, zooming past like they were training for the Restaurant Olympics. You could tell they were stretched thin.
Brigette’s English isn’t perfect and she struggled to understand us, but she was sweet as pie and hustling nonstop. Amy and Kaisa were the same kind, upbeat, and moving so fast I was worried someone was going to have to ice their knees at the end of the shift.
At one point I leaned over to my dad and said, These are the kind of hardworking women you fought in Nam for. He laughed so hard I thought we were going to need a medic. He said if he’d known this was the outcome, he would’ve volunteered twice.
Yes, it took a while. Yes, we considered growing beards at the table. But the staff never stopped trying, and that counts for a lot in my book.
Would I go back? Sure.
Would I maybe bring a folding chair and a deck of cards next time? Also sure.
Tip your servers, folks. They earned it.

I been living in this area for 10 years. Never been to this place until today. Ver very disappointed. Pastrami sandwich, this is not for anyone on line this review is for the restaurant. The sandwich had no flavor, the pastrami was not seasoned, the onions and peppers wasn’t sauteed all the way they were almost raw. Waist of money. The fries tasted better than the sandwich. Guys! You gotta work on that sandwich. If I ever eat that same sandwich again, it would be because I’m waisted….. That sandwich need a prayer

I had a couple of hours of idle time yesterday (1:15pm) and decided to stop somewhere I’ve never been before and was pleasantly surprised with my stop at Pepe’s Restaurant & Lounge.
Relaxed atmosphere with a true local touch. Plenty of room at the bar and the bartender/server (Tom) made me feel right at home.
I ordered the New England Clam Chowder and can say it’s definitely one of the best tasting ones in a long time. Their award winning wings were delicious.
Will need to come back and try some of the other menu items. So glad I made the stop.

I liked the set up of the restaurant, there is a bar area with plenty of seats, the bartender/waitress was very friendly and pleasant, and I had pasta giobotto (medallion chicken with sweet sausage in a red sauce) which was delicious. There is an outside patio that looked very nice. The price was reasonable ($18.00) and I had a nice glass of merlot ($5.00) which was perfect for my meal selection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had the white clam, greek and veggies pizza, all great. Waitress was courteous and helpful with shuffling some ingredients in some of our order. Mac and cheese on the bigger size. Deck is nice to sit outside, not the best of views as it is on the parking lot and music is on the louder side.

Nice little atmosphere. The food was good too. Looking forward to going back to try the pizza and pasta. We had the chili, not a fan to wet, the gorgonzola bread was amazing and we had the large order of wings honey bbq and sweet chili, delicious.

Awesome happy hour app discounts. Nice crispy wings. More wings than legs though. Very good hot sauce with just the right amount of heat and a nice tang. Good bleu cheese and just the right amount of celery and carrots, which were very fresh. Excellent selection of draft beer. The only place I have found in CT with Carlsberg Pilsner. Although it was just a bit on the flat side. Nice lively locals crowd. Front lot fills up quick but there is more in the rear.

My 1st time here today..7/16/25 because word on the street was ..it was good pizza. So after work I went inside & ordered a large sausage pizza bcuz they only have 2 sizes..small & large. The price was good too..$21.00. The Take Out person had a mediocre personality & they don’t do Military Discounts..that was the only downsides. I looked into the bar area & it appeared very cozy..& it was very lively for a Wednesday at 5pm but after Covid ppl realized that fun & hanging out dsnt begin on Fridays anymore..it’s everyday. The pizza was actually pretty good but not the best I’ve had. Wish I would’ve known there was an App but the mediocre Take out chick wasn’t thinking or caring that deep. A good worker will always tell a new customer what’s offered but since I am an App Person I did it afterwards. Smfh but I’ll definitely come back with my husband & enjoy the bar vibes.. maybe people’s personalities aren’t so depressing there..
