I’d give **Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant** 4 out of 5 stars. Overall, the food makes it worth the visit.
The dishes are pretty good and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and satisfying. Whether it’s the tacos, enchiladas, or other classic Mexican plates, the quality of the food really stands out.
The only downside was the service. It wasn’t terrible, but the server could have paid a little more attention to the table. There were moments where we had to wait longer than expected or flag someone down.
That said, the food definitely makes up for it. With a little improvement in attentiveness and service, this place could easily be a 5-star experience.

My first time dining here; and the experience was very good. We were greeted by a casually dressed host and seated pretty much as soon as we walked in. And may I had that the placed was packed but the was plenty of seating. The tables were not that close to each other and Pepe’s also has outdoor seat available for good weather days. Our waiter Kevin was great he checked on us at a good rate and was a pleasant gentleman. The Vegetarian tacos were presented well and the flavors were on point, very fulfilling! Also I enjoyed the Del Mar Fajitas also very fulfilling! Pepe’s offers great food served fast and hot, good service with a nice atmosphere. A menu with plenty of options, vegetarian dishes, drinks, and specials.

We always order there because the food is good, but today we did a big order, my food came raw and when I called they said that this is them median rare. My food came raw and like 3, 4 people came to the phone to say “have nothing we can do but refund”. Now all my friends are eating happily because we order to celebrate something important and I don’t have food.
I live 0,3 miles away and nobody offered to bring a replacement.

Where to start, Pepes is actually SOO GOOD! When we got the the Decor and music made it such a relaxing environment to put down some Fajitas, and on top of that I’ve never had a server so attentive on replacing chips and drinks. The white sauce is the best one I’ve tried in the area especially if you like it sweeter. Every worker was way personable. Highly reccomend coming to Pepes

The food was exquisitely nice especially the refried beans. It was so good that I had to close my eyes. Also with the rice. I love Mexican food. I liked the painting on the wall outside. I liked the little holes so you can peek at other people. I LOVED the candy!

This review is based on four visits over 6 months. Very enthusiastic and solid service. There is an enchilada which was kind of deconstructed with a bunch of pork and goodies on top instead of inside. It was delicious, one of the 5 best Mexican dishes I’ve ever had. The Chesterfield burrito is huge and good. All the grilled dishes are high quality. Outdoor sunset seating can be a bit hard on the eyeballs. Kids always totally happy.

Good food, awesome service. While on a soccer tournament my son and I stopped at this place for dinner based on reviews and we were not disappointed. The service, as other people have mentioned, was really good, waiters were attentive all the time and food was served quick and fresh. We got the Carne Asada and the Texas Fajitas. The portions were big and tasty but I would cut down a bit the oil on the fajitas. Carne Asada flavor was pretty good but not the best I have had. My only negative is on the price of the Margaritas, while the Spicy Margarita was flavorful it was almost at the same price as one of the entrees. Overall a good experience.

Hands DOWN the best Mexican food this side of the border. I’m a SoCal girl and being so close to Baja we had amazing carnicerias and mom and pop shops on every corner! Everything I had in Virginia was lackluster at best, then I found out about Pepe’s.
This place is absolutely fire. There’s nothing that I have eaten here that I didn’t like. The co-owner Eric and his team have magnificent authentic food that you are sure to love! It’s a weekly occurrence for us to visit. They are usually always busy but never much of a wait for a table. Our favorite server is Luis, if you sit with him your chips we be plentiful and your drink always full. We cannot say enough about our love of Pepe’s!
