I’m a regular at Pepe’s, and I love their food. I’ve tried everything on the menu, from breakfast to lunch to dinner, and I’ve never been disappointed.
My favorite thing about Pepe’s is their refried beans. They’re so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I could eat a bowl of their beans by themselves.
Their hard shell tacos are also amazing. They’re filled with lots of shredded meat or carnitas, and the tortillas are always crispy.
I also love their breakfast burritos. They’re huge and filling, and they always come filled with their delicious beans.
If you’re looking for a great place to eat in town, I highly recommend Pepe’s. They have something for everyone, and their food is always top-notch.

The food is excellent and the staff is always friendly. They have two TVs in the restaurant. The Dodger game was on one and the other had SpongeBob?? With that I can give it a family friendly rating.

I tried the chili cheese (red)fries today, chili sauce is out of a can.Would not recommend. The Green chili cheese fries are next. The crunchy beef tacos are the bomb. I love love love the chicken taco salad! A must. The portions are ok. More avocado and chicken would make this dish. Plenty of salsa and soda fountain makes it worth the trip if you dine in.

This place came with high recommendations from locals and thus I went in with high expectations. It was a let down. We went for breakfast and got the torta, breakfast burrito and breakfast plate. The portions were generous (enormous) but the taste was very bland, the salsa kinda watery. Maybe we ordered the wrong things or expected something else, but it was really nothing to write home about, standardized Mexican fast food.

Pepe’s as a chain has been around for decades but this location has only been open for like 10~15 years. In the time that they’ve been opened, I think it’s safe to say that they’ve established themselves as a Hacienda Heights staple for fast casual Mexican-American food.
I’ve been dining at Pepe’s since before this location ever opened. I used to frequent the El Monte and Brea locations and I was really happy when they opened on Hacienda Blvd. I have fond memories of late night Pepe’s trips with my friends from my high school years through my college years. They’ve ALWAYS remained quality and consistent.
Now that I’m older and my body doesn’t let me get away with eating this type of food past 9pm, I don’t eat Pepe’s quite as often. However, whenever I occasionally do, their food still tastes just as delicious as I remember.

Local spot we come to here for lunch. The taco salad is mainly the only thing we get but there is a lot of other choices to choose from. The taco salad comes pretty quick & always fresh so you don’t have to worry about the salad.
