Pepe’s is one of those hole in the wall places where the locals go to. It is a Mexican American restaurant where the serving size is decent. I had left overs for lunch the next day. The place is older and could use some updating but the vintage look I see part of the charm. Everything was clean including the bathroom. The chips and salsa we just right. We don’t like spicy food and we both liked it. Our server was friendly and she kept our tea glasses filled.

On our way back to San Antonio we stopped for a quick bite and it was the best decision to stop here. From our amazing and super friendly server Rosa to the food the experience was very welcoming. I ordered the beef fajitas (for one) and my husband got the all you can eat catfish. Both of our meals were delicious and fresh! Wish we were locals to try everything they have to offer! Not to worry it will be a regular stop anytime we are passing through. Thank you for serving us!

The food is good, the chips and salsa are fresh, the waitress was new but very friendly. I’ll be sad to see it sell to other owners, but I forgot about it in the location. I’ll go back when I can! The atmosphere is quiet, and they have a nice sized party room.

We were told by friends this place had the best catfish in town. We were disappointed. It was cooked well just bland and not much flavor. We only saw our server when she took our order and delivered it. Restaurant was clean and seemed pleasantly busy for a weeknight. We look forward to trying something different next time we visit.

We lucked into having dinner at Pepe’s diner as we drove through San Angelo. This is a great family owned place that’s been around for 25 years. It’s not fancy but it’s pretty good.

Definitely a greasy spoon. Service wasn’t good. Our waitress didn’t understand the English language. Brought wrong drinks. Food was edible, but not great. I ordered sour cream enchiladas. They were in-between lukewarm and cold. I did finish my plate….bcuz I was rather hungry. It’s not as good as people want you to believe. AND….$30 for two dinners!!! Waste!

It’s a greasy spoon restaurant. Good food. American and Mexican mostly. The catfish is good. The service is good, and they are always friendly. The plates/portions are big. If you leave hungry it will be your own fault.

The catfish at prime time was tastier than on a weekday dinner. The tartar sauce really needs improvement (& out of the squeeze bottle if it’s gonna have pickles, onions, etc in it please!)

We have been here before but I ordered the seafood platter this time. I am not a fan of catfish but this was some of the best catfish I have ever had. The shrimp and crab were very good also. I didn’t really like the hush puppies but that was not what I was ordering the seafood platter for. We had chips and salsa before the meal and everyone enjoyed that also. I am sure we will be back next time we are in town again.
