Small family owned home cooking. It’s cash only so take some greenbacks with you. The honeybun loved his tenderloin, eggs and homemade grease gravy. I had a BLT with extra tomatoes. very good. They didn’t really have enough help but were doing the best they could. Our bill for two was $22.03. Fair price for what we had. Coffee was fab!

Would you pay $8 for the sandwich in the pics? I wish I didn’t, the chicken salad had soggy croutons, the boiled eggs were old and the yellow part was hard and flaky. The bacon bits were to hard for my daughter to eat.

Absolutely awful food and a cranky waitress to boot. If you think this slop is good, my heart breaks for you. Southern hospitality took a nosedive today with this joint too. Fast food would actually be better than this place. Sorry…not sorry.

Small, hometown restaurant. It is cash only. We go weekly! Very friendly and attentive staff. Food is always good! Could use a “Kid’s Menu” section. Breakfast is also very good!

Driving through Newport, my sister spotted this restaurant so we stopped for lunch. We walked in & someone from behind the counter yelled for us to sit wherever we wanted. My sister selected a booth near the side door. A waitress appeared & took our beverage orders. She returned promptly & took our lunch orders. The restaurant had a plethora of knick knacks & my sister commented that she was impressed there was not a cob web or dust bunny to be seen anywhere amongst them. We chatted about the number of Betty Boop items & I spent some time trying to look up the Will Lea whiskey distillery from an old jug on a shelf. At that point it became apparent our food was taking a ridiculous amount of time & the conversation turned to how long we had been waiting with so few customers in the restaurant. I was getting a bit irritated. About 5 minutes later, the waitress showed up with our food explaining she had been working on a to-go order for a company that orders from them regularly. She had never come to our table to tell us there would be a wait, never checked on us during the time she was working on their order & appeared to expect everything to be excused when she said the name of the company. I appreciate that regular customers are their bread & butter, but they ignored customers currently sitting in the restaurant to accommodate this to-go order. As a result, although the food was good, they’ve assured I will not return to this restaurant.

Well. I guess the Covid situation has got here. Not the same as the first trip. Absolutely horrible. Horrible service, horrible food. The place is filthy. Damnit. I loved this place. Love spending money here. Don’t think we will after this morning. Crazy. Damnit. Very sad.
