Ordered steamed fish but it was full of scales with a small part still undercooked. The Shanghainese pork rib was not authentic and bland. Fish maws soup was good. Atmosphere was good with great service.

A beautiful, pleasant and relaxing atmosphere with several large dining areas including seating along the river. The food was definitely fresh and the individual dishes had distinct flavors. Reasonably priced and deserving of return visits.

Update— I ordered a couple of dim sum for to go, har gow, mu shu chicken, chive and shrimp, tofu wrap soup, black sesame ball- and they were so so mehh. Rice wrapping was way too think. Too much fillers. Hope it improves!!

Tried Peony for the first time and had a great experience. Service was quick, prices were reasonable, and the food came out fast.
We ordered chicken chow mein, honey walnut prawns, chicken fried rice, Peking duck, veggie dumplings, and broccoli beef—everything was good.
Came with family and little kids, and the staff were very friendly, kind, and helpful. Would definitely come back!!!

Across from Kaiser on Main Street. They have a private parking lot, street parking and an outdoor seating area that overlooks the creek.
The decor is wonderful. Service here was great too. Food, was great. I didn’t know they did dim sum dishes. I took a few photos of what we got there. Great date night place too. I added this as one of the better dim sum places to go in my dim sum bookmarks.
I definitely planning on coming back, perhaps for dinner. Delicious dim sum.

Next time you’re hungry for a terrific meal in Walnut Creek, you must go to Peony Gardens. My favorite is Hot & Sour Soup and Kung Pao Shrimp. Fast service, great food, reasonable price. FIVE STARS !!!

We had a lovely dinner tonight for my Mom’s birthday! Service was quick, very attentive and respectful. Our server made great recommendations! (Not pictured, salt and pepper wings), Mongolian fried beef, string beans & asparagus in a black bean glaze, wor wonton soup, steamed rice and the house tri dumplings. Everything was fresh, flavorful and served very quickly. I will definitely be back!
