Came in on a Friday on our way down to Carlsbad Caverns and was welcomed as we seated ourselves. We ordered the Western Burger and the Sunrise Skillet with bacon, over medium eggs, and a pancake. The place was just as you imagine a diner should be. Shiny stainless steel countertop, barstools, checkered tile floor, and boomerang tabletops. The food was out quick. We ordered a strawberry shake to go before we even took a bite. The food was great and we now have leftovers for another day. I wish I’d taken a picture of the skillet because it was a heaping pile of goodness with the over medium eggs cooked to perfection on top! The staff were friendly with all patrons and great at their differing roles. If I ever pass through again I would love a second go at the menu!

We had such a wonderful experience and breakfast … our waitress wasn’t only the waitress but also the cook, hostess and check-out lady … The diner is truly Americana As we travelled across America from Vermont we came to passing this diner and quickly turned around … So happy WE DID!! Food was delicious, the service was excellent, the atmosphere friendly, cozy, and entertaining … I purchased her LAST PINK “Penny’s t-shirt” she had hanging for my daughter who constantly is asked about it … Hopefully one day we will return … Thanks for the wonderful memories ️

Don’t pass through Vaughn without stopping to get a bite here! You’ll be glad you did! The staff membe were very kind and welcoming. The food was absolutely perfect! I walked out full and satisfied without spending a fortune! Come holler at these guys. Get it while it’s hot!

It was quiet. Very clean & the experience was enjoyable. I had breakfast which was delicious and my husband had the Western burger and he enjoyed it. We shared some pancakes as well and it was a little doughy in the middle but overall delicious.

03/02/25- My first time here. No prices on generic menu, you have to scan a code printed on a card next to your table # to see the prices. Very strange so I ordered online. No personal service was offered. My food was average tasting with an average premade bought burger patty. All in all it’s ok but they gotta get rid of the online thing inside the restaurant. Photos of prices good as of March 2025.

For the only decent place to eat within 2 hours from every which way, Dolly and I thought this was a decent place to get some basic grub. It’s not a 5 star restaurant but it’s better than a bag of chips at the gas station. If you vocalize what you want/need… you will get it. I ordered mozzarella sticks, bacon egg cheese on sour dough bread toasted with butter & a chicken salad. Basic and decent. The staff was extremely friendly and the ambiance was cool. No music (just the way I like it) and art/personal tags written all over the walls by visitors.
