We look forward to welcoming you back in the spring.** Penny Lick Ice Cream Company was founded in 2013 with the mission of bringing back old-fashioned, custard-based ice cream. We believe that the best ice cream is the simplest. That means dairy from local cows treated ethically, sustainable whole food ingredients, no artificial flavors or colors. Plus, we never use peanuts, tree nuts or sesame, so everyone can enjoy our ice cream.

Great scenic location and low prices for decent homemade ice cream (7 flavors, one vegan). The servings are large (including 2 flavors in one scoop), staff is friendly and they allow sampling.
I really loved the vegan blueberry maple (oat milk). The base was really good and streaks of blueberries were delicious.
The strawberry ice cream clearly showed that their ice cream was homemade as it was a light pink (no artificial color) and had actual frozen bits of strawberries and strawberry seeds. However, it like the vanilla and cookies and cream weren’t amazing.

The flavors at Bigfoot are magical!
We love going here around 6:30/7pm to watch the sunset, get our ice cream (with of course the coolest sprinkles!) and to enjoy the beautiful view!

One of the best local ice cream shops around! If you’re looking for a great view of the waterfront and to enjoy ice cream, then this is the place to be. It’s really accessable by car or by train if you take the metro north to the Ossining train station. I absolutely suggest you try the lavender ice cream first, but to my surprise, the red velvet was actually really good.
Overall, this is a wonderful spot and the staff are beyond the nicest ladies. If you can’t think of what to try, just ask them for a recommendation.

Bigfoot is our go-to ice cream shop for homemade delicious goodness, super fun toppings, friendly and helpful service, amazingly beautiful surroundings, and an all around great sense of community. There is a playground right next to the shop for the kids to burn off the sugar high. Five stars!

Big Foot is the perfect addition to Ossining especially at the waterfront where you can enjoy ice cream with a Hudson River view! One day I was just walking past with my pup and she pulled me to the window, stood up as if to say she was there for her own treat. The young ladies didn’t even flinch and immediately gave her 2! Everyone who works there is always kind and you’ll be guaranteed a delicious experience every time.

Penny Lick Ice Cream has taken over the stand previously run by Barefoot Creamery, and it has turned out to be a delightful upgrade. Located perfectly by the water, it’s an ideal spot to cool down on a hot summer day in the park.
They pride themselves on using all-natural, fresh ingredients, which does mean they often run out quickly as they don’t keep a large surplus of products in the back.
During my visit, I tried the Blueberry Jam and White Chocolate Cherry flavors. The Blueberry Jam was very subtle, and I could barely taste the blueberry in it. However, the White Chocolate Cherry was exceptionally sweet and savory, making it a delightful treat.
Overall, Penny Lick Ice Cream is a great addition to the area and definitely worth a visit for their fresh, high-quality offerings.
