We are here from Oregon & I wanted real southern hush puppies. We came in Sunday but ended up at an Applebees due to closed on Sundays. On Monday evening we came back. Hubby chose fried & I chose grilled Shrimp platter. His side was hush puppies/ corn nuggets- which is a 1st for both of us. I chose double puppies/ Mac& cheese. The grilled shrimp were chewy & severely over cooked. The fried were PERFECT. The light batter was seasoned to perfection. We really enjoyed those. The Puppies were ok. I was hoping for more of a flavor bomb but they were light and airy. Again, perfect fry and almost no excess grease. I was glad that I got into mine early and saved those perfect hush puppies from getting absorbed in all of the grease and liquid at the bottom of the grilled shrimp platter I may recommend that you put those aside because if those had been wet, I probably would’ve went back into the store All in all, for $27 it was decent but ask for fresh grilled. Mine were just inedible the Mac and cheese? Standard at best.

I had the catfish dinner with slaw and fries: the absolute best catfish I ever had! The fries were piping hot and so was the fish. There was a little wait time at the drive through but it was well worth the wait.

Don’t waste your time, the food is actually decent, the wait time for the drive through is ridiculous, no chance you get out of there in under 20 min(w/ no one in front of you). The lobby has been closed for at least 6 months, they might as well shut it down.
It’s sad, bc the food is good and the service used to actually mean something to them, clearly not anymore.

Food was actually really good. I got the butterfly shrimp, fried okra, green beans and hushpuppies. It was all very good … very generous helping of fried okra. The atmosphere could be nicer, could use some updating. The AC was on high gear. We were freezing.

The food is delicious! It’s just too expensive and they don’t give you enough. My family and I used to eat here twice a week and it was under $50 foot a family of 4. They’ve gotten greedy with the prices and stingy with the food. The worker told me that they weight the fries. Come on now that’s just bad. Can’t afford to go now. Maybe if they make it affordable again.

Ordered the funnel cake fries and got a tiny box so light I thought it was empty. Opened the box to find 12.5 funnel fries with a teaspoon of powdered sugar. When I asked if this was correct, I was rudely told it comes with 14-15 pieces. Never again. Simply not worth the money.

I am truly disappointed with this visit to Penn’s Fish! The fish was good and so was the okra. The fries were terrible! We purchased a family catfish with an extra side, fried okra, $56.46. We order this EVERY time we are home. This is usually MORE than enough for 5 to 6 adults. This time it was barely enough for 3 adult males. Not a satisfied customer!

Ordered the snack box with fries and after I got back to work I was shocked at what $9 got me! Nothing! 3 over cooked fish nuggets and about 10 fries. Barely worth $5! I won’t make that mistake again nor go back! Had it been filets I probably wouldn’t have been that upset but something smaller than a cigarette lighter, I’m out!

They havent made millions off of fried – chicken, pickles, & onions on a stick cause they suck. Consistently good food Time After Time. ***Fast Foward 2 years…. Big TIme Edit… I have never seen such a successful chain go down so quickly. Just went through the drive through and ordered an oyster Po-Boys…. 4 oysters each about the size if a large pecan. …$13.99.. Never again. These pictures were taken right when i got home.
