Had a great time at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern. It has a cozy laid back vibe but still works really well for groups. Service was friendly and attentive and there are televisions everywhere which made it easy for all of us to watch WWE together without fighting for a view.

The setup is a big plus with both an upstairs and downstairs bar so it never felt cramped. Food is standard sports bar fare but executed well especially the wings and the tots which were legitimately excellent. Easy comfortable and fun kind of spot you want when you just want to watch something together and enjoy the night.

We took our Grandson to DC for the first time and had the chance to have lunch at the Tavern. The place was clean and very busy. Our server Tony was noticeably swamped, but he still took the time to make a lasting impression. My grandson ordered a burger and is a selective eater. He only wanted pickles as a condiment. When the food came out, Tony checked on us and he could tell my grandson was upset so he inquired what was wrrong. He responded that he only liked Dill pickles. Tony agreed its Dill or nothing and said I think I have a solution. He returned in 2 minutes with dill pickles for my grandson to enjoy his meal. This made him so happy, he really wanted those pickles. Thank you Tony for going the extra mile to ensure he was happy and we look forward to returning on our next visit.

The wings were pretty good. They were a decent size. They were well cooked. Flavor was typical Buffalo flavor. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The place was clean.

This is a good place to watch games on weekends. There’s a good amount of space and TVs. I would not go there for a weekday lunch again, though. The portions are meager, but the hidden fees make the meal way overpriced. My sandwich and beer came out to $22.74 before tax and tip, but with the added fees and mandatory tip, the final bill was $32.89, which if you do the math is a crazy high markup.

1 star because this tavern includes a 6% service fee due to the DC Minimum Wage Act. Pay your workers fairly without throwing a fit! Other than that the food is good and reasonably priced

The food at this restaurant is solid! For starters we had their hot honey wings, those were amazing. For our mains we had the Philly Cheese steak and the Triple Double smash burger! The sandwiches were hot, the fries were hot, and of course everything tasted great! This place also had 40 TVs lol great for watching whatever games are on. We will definitely be back!

I went on 11/30 with my kids. We were so pleased to get seats! My son’s wings and pulled pork were fine. Not amazing but certainly enjoyable. Unfortunately my fish and chips were terrible. The batter was heavy and thick. But worse, the fish smelled. Definitely not fresh or quality frozen. I was concerned about eating it. I told the waitress who then brought me a menu to choose something else and then she never came back. I ended up just sharing my sons’ food. Despite her knowing the fish was inedible, nothing was adjusted on the bill. I should have asked for a manager but it was crazy busy.

when in DC , especially near the National Mall and museums, your food options are pretty limited. Penn Quarter offered a great outdoor area to grab lunch and people watch! food was good. ordered wings, Buffalo Chix Wrap, quesadilla and a ” Bar-be-Que” burger. had an issue with my burger (spoiled meat IMO) and they were happy to replace it with another. the replacement was great. service was a bit inattentive and our drinks sat empty for long periods, however our server was nice and accommodating when present. atmosphere was nice and the outdoor seating, again, was wonderful. I’d def recommend anyone looking for something other than food truck options around the National Mall/ White House area.

Penn Quarter was a typical Sports Bar and Grill which is the only reason I did not offer 5 stars, as I want something that makes it stand out. The food was very good, seating was ample with an area upstairs for our party of six, and plenty of TV’s for game watching. Our server was well versed in their offerings and memorized all of our orders and the quirks for each. I am always impressed by this method but have sometimes been met with a missing item. Not this time. Our server was great.

The food was brought out relatively quickly, although there was not a lot of business when we first arrived. Business did pick up a bit but we found we could still comfortably carry on a conversation. After eating, we were offered dessert but found we were too full even though I heard cheesecake.

Prices were fair and reasonable for the typical bar/pub experience. The facility was clean and offered an outdoor seating area too but it was close to 98 degrees so we opted for indoor seating.

The close proximity to the National Archives and metro make this a great choice to refuel if you are a tourist.

We got lucky when we stumbled upon this tavern! We sat upstairs were there was a few less people, a beautiful view, stunning bar top and plenty of tv’s to see whatever sport you wanted….yes including the bathroom. The food was fantastic! Our service was so kind to give his opinion about different items when we asked. And not a yeah I’ve never had it but hear it’s good, it was a descriptive this is better or that would be my first choice, he was super knowledgeable and very patient with all of the questions. If I come to DC definitely have to come back here! I highly recommend!!! Plus if it wasn’t so dang hot there is tons of outdoor seating.
