Every summer my boyfriend and I work in Salt Lake, and visiting Penguin Brothers in Sugar House used to be one of our favorite adventures (RIP to that location!). This summer we made the trip out to Provo to visit the new spot, and I forgot just how much I missed the honeycomb ice cream—the one that tastes just like airplane cookies (biscoff)—and the salted chocolate, which is still incredible.

Our server, Zoe, was such a sweetheart. She welcomed us warmly, offered us samples of flavors we hadn’t tried, asked about our adventures, and even wished us safe travels. She really made us feel like valued guests.

The shop itself is adorable, the ice cream is as amazing as ever, and while I think the cookie recipe may have changed a bit, the overall experience was still a 5/5. We missed you, Penguin Brothers, and we’re so glad we came back. Can’t wait until next time! ❤️

Totally recommended. Very kind service. A lot of very good, very diverse flavors. The group consensus was that the s’more flavor was the best. Honeycomb was the runner up. It’s a pretty hidden location and the staff have to help both the drive through and the people in-restaurant. The wait was a little long for us.

We went here on a Saturday night at 8. It is very small on the inside. So there is not a lot of seating. The kazookies were really good. Nice hot soft cookies with ice cream on top. They were good. Maybe just a little small for the price. The service was good and we got our food quickly.

The Cookie Monster flavor is really well done. Oreo, cookie dough, fudge swirl in a vanilla base. Yum!

Coolest ice cream shop! Yummy combinations of ice cream and cookies. Simply delish! Natalie answered all my questions since this was our first visit. Her recommendation of the Golden Snitch Pookie – an oatmeal cookie and honeycomb ice cream in a pie tin – was scrumptious! I love the witty special of half price if you have a Provo parking ticket in hand. Hillarious! We will be back!

The ice cream here is great. They have fun variety, like ice cream sandwiches with really good cookies or pazookies. Their variety of ice cream is great too. My favorite is the honeycomb flavor with chocolate chip cookies, but there is a lot of variety.

Their hours are wrong for Saturday online though. They open at 12 noon on Saturday, not 4 pm.

We went to Penguin Brothers to add some new life into our treat places. I mean, can you beat cookies AND ice cream? The answer is “no.” The shop was easy to find and there is a good amount of seating inside and out. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We tried several different ice creams and settled on the mint oreo, honeycomb, and dark chocolate seat salt. I tried the dairy free chocolate peanutbutter. It wasn’t bad but I definitely prefer dairy in my ice cream. The honeycomb was really good. The honey almost tasted like caramel and everytime you hit a pocket of it in the ice cream you’d get a nice treat to compliment the vanilla ice cream. I order the pizookie and it was delicious (with that said I’m a cookie guy). The ice cream cup with mint oreo and dark chocolate sea salt was good as well. The dark chocolate sea salt ice cream was REALLY good. I’d recommend that one if you’re looking for something new. Pricing is very reasonable. We’ll definitely return to this place. Well done, Penguin Brothers!

Looking to have a wonderful date night? Do you have a group that wants a nice treat after an event? Or maybe you need someone to cater your event with some spectacular desserts? The Penguin Bros will hook you up, and won’t let you down. If you love cookies, ice cream, or both together, you can’t go wrong. These gourmet ice cream sandwiches are made with Provo’s very own Rockwell Ice Cream! Also, the fact that they have a drive thru is very convenient.

POSITIVES: To start, their ice cream is thick, creamy, and with a variety of innovative creations. Although cones aren’t an option, you may eat your ice cream ‘sandwich-style’ (between various cookies), in a bowl, or the pizookie method (cookie in a small tin, topped with the ice cream). They have 2 sizes of sandwich, the lil bro and the big bro (for a dollar more, we went with the big bro). Also, they had wonderful servers who were friendly, polite, and very helpful in letting us sample all their exciting flavors. They were gracious enough to serve our sandwich in a bowl, as it got drippy in the heat. The decor is quite cozy. The walls were decked out in nerdy pictures/posters from famous movies, but cleverly photoshopping their cookie sandwiches in the scene. While the bathroom was small and shabby, my (pregnant) wife was certainly grateful they even had one. The prices were fair for the quality and amount you get.

NEGATIVES: they aren’t able to print receipts. I kind of regret getting the muddy buddy flavored ice cream, as it wasn’t my favorite. It has chunks of peanut butter that seemed as large as the scoop of ice cream. And the Chex in it had an awkward texture that was both soggy and rough at the same time.

PRICE: about $5 per person.

RECOMMENDED: Cookie monster. S’mores. If you go the sandwich route, the classic inception cookies were wonderful (Chocolate Chip/Double Fudge Cookies, filled with cookie monster ice cream).
