Looking for a great little spot for breakfast? Look no further and head into Peña’s Place. The restaurant is small and definitely fills up but their food is worth the wait. From the friendly customer service to the delicious food you can’t go wrong. I had the breakfast burrito smothered in Christmas and I highly recommend. Also try their chips and salsa, it has a great bite to it.

The service was amazing. Super nice people. The food was okay. Not what I’m used to for Mexican food but it was good. Food came out quick. Would use poblanos for Chilerieno instead of Anaheim may get more flavor but it was good.

We own a home here and live here half the year. I for some reason spent the last 20 years never having visited this place and it’s a huge regret!!! There is a popular Mexican restaurant in town that’s a tourist trap with awful food so I’m 1000% grateful for Peña’s. We go at least 2-3 times a month. I’ve never had one thing bad. I didn’t live the pancakes but the buckwheat was just different for me personally. I usually get the combo platter and they seriously have the best chili relleno ever. The green sauce is more of a tomatillo instead of hatch green which I appreciate because I do not do heat. Hubs like green too but prefers spicy hatch. The red sauce you can ask for extra heat. Unsure if you can with green. Chips are fresh and handmade. Salsa delicious. The waitress is the best. Chef’s been there for decades so it’s always consistent. It’s tiny inside but so have outside when seasonal. May have to wait. But worth it. Please not hours are early. Usually closes at 3pm.

Great service, and great good! Small restaurant with friendly staff. Mexican style restaurant, great for breakfast, delicious tortillas on the side. The food is not very spicy, so it’s family friendly for the non spicy eaters in your group. The staff was super attentive and all wore masks.

Food Was Good and Fresh! Not the Best Flavors On The Dishes. They were Good Overall but Not Great! The Huevos Rancheros Were Good But Needed More Hot Kick Definitely. I Ordered a Dide Of Cubed Pappas(Potatoes ), The Potatoes Weren’t Seasoned at All (Needs Seasoning). Rice and Beans Fell Flat. The Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas Were Good and Fresh But Sauce Did Lack A Little On The Flavor. It’s Like Eating In Someone’s Grandma’s Backyard! It Was Kool, I’d Go Back and It’s A Good Little Quick Bite To Eat! 3.5 Overall!!

I read the reviews before coming here, and they all basically said the food was really good, and the service was amazing. Honestly, their service was the first thing I noticed when we came in this morning. So friendly,comfortable, natural and the right amount of attentiveness. Loved it, and enjoyed the food! Will definitely go back next time we’re in Ruidoso!

Went there for breakfast with friends. The breakfast was good and the service was prompt and friendly. The eggs Benedict was the favorite and are only served on the weekend. Go early because there is usually a wait and they do run out.

Food tastes canned except the eggs. Definitely a cheaper lazy version of traditional Mexican food. And up charge on everything. Small business but nickle and dimed for mediocre food.
