This restaurant is a quiet hidden gem in west wales.
I dont know why that is.
Because the food is delicious.
The Bhangladeshi proprietor and chef certainly knowes his trade.

The various bir style dishes are exemplary.
I chose a Chicken Jhalfrezi.
It was a good portion size and had lots of tender chicken in it.
It had that all so familiar thick rich sauce.
You could taste various spice flavoured notes in the dish.
A lot of restaurants now omit certain spices to save money….and it showes in the dish by being bland.

The Saag Bhaji and the Aloo Methi sides were excellent to….
As was the Keema naan.
We were served by a lovely lady who was friendly, chatty and attentive.
If you have never been to Pembroke Tandoori.
Why not give it a try.
You wont be disappointed at all…..

I have never rated the curry here in the Pembrokeshire area, but this one used to be the best of a bad bunch. I’ve been away over a year, come back, ordered the other night, damn it was bad. The rice, over done, poor quality, the curry, where was my sauce, plenty of chicken don’t get me wrong, but lacking sauce, the mango chutney was not a chutney but a syrup, it was an abomination. Now we get onto the naan, the bit you think they can’t mess up, I ordered a garlic naan and it was truly inedible, they’d used some horrible greasy dry store garlic paste that tasted foul and completely ruined any of the flavour of anything else.
Pembroke Tandoori has clearly cut costs to the detriment of their food this year, the only reason I’ve given it 2 stars is that I hope they read this and up their game again and once more gather the trophy of being the best of a bad bunch in the area.
Honestly I love curry and wish we just had a decent one here, any potential curry house owners reading this, there’s a gap in the market here, they all suck.

We were a little bit worried when the hostess said a little sharply that they at didn’t serve alcohol. We were ok with that so we sat down to look at the menu. Very expansive with a lot of styles that we weren’t familiar with so we went with the Special for two. The food was very tasty including some dishes we’ve never tried and there was a lot of it. I’d go back, though we’d need to do some research on some of the dishes before we do.

Staying locally so my children and I wanted a takeaway on the first night.

We ordered butter chicken with rice, lamb rogan josh with rice and tikka masala with rice.

My son who had the Rogan Josh couldn’t finish it because it’s was that bad, my butter chicken which was completely inauthentic had whole cherry tomatoes in the sauce – yes really – which definitely did not taste normal look like butter chicken. The only saving grace was the chicken was either tikka or tandoori which made it edible.

My daughter had tikka masala and while I know this was a dish created for Brits, it was still awful.

Honestly up there with the worst curries I’ve ever had ( if you’ve ever gone to an Indian restaurant in London or Birmingham you will understand the difference) and for £36 not at all worth it.

First time getting food from here after being recommended by my sister. The food was outstanding. Probably the best Indian food I’ve had in a very long time
The lady who served me was also very polite and full of smiles. Would definitely recommend

They absolutely demolished the dishes and left a puddle of sauce in the bottom if the bags they handed to us food was okay but the state in which we received it was abhorent

The food was very nice. Well spiced, nice heat without being too much. Lovely naan. Reading the negative comments here I really don’t understand. Good honest food, yeah without the frills of a Michelin restaurant but extremely tasty and we left happy. Well done.

Food was good and a good value for the money spent but the service was not the best. They told us that the place was full and would only accept take out when there was only one person at the restaurant and there clearly was space available.

Travelling around, came across this Indian takeaway thought I would give it a try. I was amazed. The chef was excellent, and the food was cooked to perfection. A real hidden gem! Will be coming back soon.
