I dont know why that is.
Because the food is delicious.
The Bhangladeshi proprietor and chef certainly knowes his trade.
The various bir style dishes are exemplary.
I chose a Chicken Jhalfrezi.
It was a good portion size and had lots of tender chicken in it.
It had that all so familiar thick rich sauce.
You could taste various spice flavoured notes in the dish.
A lot of restaurants now omit certain spices to save money….and it showes in the dish by being bland.
The Saag Bhaji and the Aloo Methi sides were excellent to….
As was the Keema naan.
We were served by a lovely lady who was friendly, chatty and attentive.
If you have never been to Pembroke Tandoori.
Why not give it a try.
You wont be disappointed at all…..
Pembroke Tandoori has clearly cut costs to the detriment of their food this year, the only reason I’ve given it 2 stars is that I hope they read this and up their game again and once more gather the trophy of being the best of a bad bunch in the area.
Honestly I love curry and wish we just had a decent one here, any potential curry house owners reading this, there’s a gap in the market here, they all suck.
We ordered butter chicken with rice, lamb rogan josh with rice and tikka masala with rice.
My son who had the Rogan Josh couldn’t finish it because it’s was that bad, my butter chicken which was completely inauthentic had whole cherry tomatoes in the sauce – yes really – which definitely did not taste normal look like butter chicken. The only saving grace was the chicken was either tikka or tandoori which made it edible.
My daughter had tikka masala and while I know this was a dish created for Brits, it was still awful.
Honestly up there with the worst curries I’ve ever had ( if you’ve ever gone to an Indian restaurant in London or Birmingham you will understand the difference) and for £36 not at all worth it.
The lady who served me was also very polite and full of smiles. Would definitely recommend
