Delicious food. The 14 oz steak was yum. The veggies perfect. Homemade ranch was tasty. Steak flatbread was devoured. Steak kabob wow!
Prices not over the roof but close. Haha

Decided to try this spot on a whim for Valentine’s Day, and luck was definitely on our side. We arrived right as they opened and snagged seats at the bar — by the time we left, the line was out the door.
The food was absolutely delicious, truly an experience in itself. Considering how busy it was, the service was impressive. My water was never empty, and the bartender made a point to check in on us throughout the meal.
I’d love to come back on a less hectic day to see how the experience compares when they’re not moving a mile a minute — but overall, a great first impression.

I’ve eating here quite a few times over the past twelve years. My favorite dish here is the sea bass.
Beyond that and things are just okay.
They do have nice bread served with butter and garlic. Which is very good. The steak, is okay. I feel like there are better places to get steak, but I ly you can judge. Their appetizers a good. Definitely try the calamari.
The service, for me, is hit or miss. In their defense, it is almost always busy in there.
That goes hand-in-hand with the atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet place to talk. This is not it. Part of the kitchen is open to a main portion of the restaurant. So, not only do you get noise from that, you get ample noise from all the pelateons trying to talk over the noise.
I would recommend making a reservation. Wait times can be long if you don’t. Even in the bar area.
Prices are okay. They definitely have some affordable entrees, but things can get expensive if you’re purchasing from the Market Price menu.
It’s a classic in Wichita Falls. So, I’d say give it a try.

My friend and I were in town and randomly decided to try out this restaurant, and we were very happy with that decision. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I ordered the rosemary butter to add on top which was good but not really necessary. The steak was delicious on its own. The seared ahi tuna was delicious, and the brownie in our dessert was warm and fudgie and oh so good. I was a little hesitant about the baked Feta, but I actually quite liked it. My only complaint about the food were the mozzarella sticks. I’m not sure if they were meant to be served like this or not, but I’m not particularly fond of mozzarella stick and are completely solid where it’s feels like you’re just biting into hard cheese rolled in breadcrumbs. Outside of that the food we got was delicious. Oh! I didn’t get a picture of this but the bread they serve with the garlic confit was yum yum good as well. We also got 2 martinis. I personally wasn’t a fan of them, but that’s not fault to the drinks. I think I just realized that I might not be a martini girly. As far as the atmosphere, it’s a casual dining atmosphere with dim lighting and mellow vibe, or atleast my experience was. I don’t remember what our waitress’ name was but she mention that they were short staffed. I honestly couldn’t tell because she did a great job tending to our needs and making sure to check in with us regularly. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely be stopping by here again the next time I’m in town.

Great steak and lobster. Hawaiian chicken and shrimp. Salads were VERY fresh. Smoked salmon dip was very good. Cocktails were good. Marcos provided exceptional service and took time to answer our questions for our first trip to Pelicans. We wanted to try someplace that wasn’t on our usual rotation for our anniversary. Pelicans was recommended by a good friend and he was spot on. The interior is cozy and a bit worn and somewhat dated. For my thought it makes it comfortable and gives it character. If quality food and good service are your gage of a restaurant this is your place! We’ll definitely be back again!

Micheal was an amazing waiter! He went above and beyond to give us a fine and fun dining experience. The food was perfectly prepared with the best flavors and tenderness. Fresh seafood this far from the coast had never been better!

My $60 ribeye, which I ordered medium, came out closer to well done and lacked flavor. There was a significant amount of inedible fat on the cut, with the only saving grace being the chimichurri I ordered on the side which tasted commercial (from a glass jar), not house-made.
The Brussels sprouts were over-steamed and lacked any real texture. The baked potato was the star of the meal.
The chargrilled oysters were decent with good flavor, but they were missing the rich, buttery, garlicky Parmesan profile I’m accustomed to on the Gulf Coast. At $18 for five, they were also on the expensive side.
I spent about $100 on a solo dinner, and while I left full, the overall experience was “meh” at best. Service started off well, but my server later went missing no drink refills, and after finishing my meal I waited several minutes before having to flag someone down just to get my check.
I’ve adjusted my expectations for food in the area if this is considered one of the better options.

The atmosphere at The Pelican was cozy and welcoming, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. The service was impeccable — attentive, polished, and truly focused on every detail.
We had made a reservation and were seated immediately, which we really appreciated.
The food was outstanding. My steak was seasoned beautifully, juicy, and absolutely delicious — one of the best meals we’ve had.
Prices are above average, but the quality, service, and overall experience make it worth every bit. Highly recommend The Pelican for a great dining experience in Wichita Falls.
