I was getting service done at Hennessy Lexus and had my godson with me. It’s was lunchtime so went walking around H mart and saw a food court.
He wanted to try this place because they had spicy fried chicken sandwich.
The sandwich is huge and he loved it. It’s actually too much for a kid. He loves spicy food but said it wasn’t spicy to him.
I got the crispy battered wings. Half no sauce and half sweet n spicy level 1 heat.
The wings were definitely delicious.
Pouch lemonade was also good.

I ordered 20 wings and was surprised they didn’t include any ranch. They tried to charge me over a dollar for one tiny cup, And my total was $3 and some change, Even though a 20-piece obviously needs at least 3. Instead of paying extra for something that should come standard, I literally walked 5 feet to H Mart and bought a whole bottle of ranch for $2.99. Great wings, but the nickel-and-diming on basic sauces is disappointing.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN EVER!!!! The recipe is not bland! The chicken is well seasoned and FLAVORED. And the CRUNCH is just like when they’re eating crispy fried chicken in the k dramas . Yes, I’ve had korean fried chicken from other places. But PELICANA is the best for just plain original crispy chicken OR chicken with sauce on it!!! The honey garlic is delicious! The level 3 spicy is delicious! And the truffle fries are so GOOD! Rico is super helpful and awesome also! If you wanna try or love korean fried chicken, COME HERE!

Convenient location for Pelicana in the H-Mart Doraville food court. The service was great– the person who helped us at the front made recommendations and was so nice and patient.
We got the Ugly Fried Chicken Sandwich with truffle mayo, side of fries with seasoning, and the half chicken with the spicy batter (half honey garlic, half original). The chicken sandwich was nicely fried and the truffle was potent. It can come with or without pickles. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The seasoning for the fries is a cheese powder. The fried chicken with the “crispy spicy batter” option was tasty on its own. The honey garlic was delicious as well. The chicken came with a side of pickled radish and coleslaw.
Everything came out and tasted as expected. Really hits the spot.
Only thing to be wary about is that the H-Mart food court has limited seating during the lunch and dinner rush since it’s shared seating with all the other restaurants.

So i’ve been to the Pelicana chicken in midtown several times and it’s among my favorite fried chicken spots. I didn’t know about this location in the H-Mart until I stumbled on it during a google search and decided to give it a shot.
The guy at the counter was inattentive and disinterested. The food was expensive and gross. The thing is… When you get chicken from your supplier, you can’t serve all of it to your customers. Some of those bits and pieces, you should just toss. The bits that aren’t shaped like parts that chickens have. I got THOSE parts. Also, it did not taste good. The batter was obviously applied unevenly.
My fries were okay but they were soggy and limp. I’d give the chicken a 1 out of 5 and the fries a 2 out of 5.
To be honest, i’m shocked because the midtown location served me fire every single time. The H-Mart location is closer but I can’t really justify returning with this being my only experience.
The H-Mart itself is really cool though. I suggest visiting if you haven’t already.

Pelicana Korean Chicken was absolutely fabulous! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively with great music that set the perfect vibe for the evening. The service was incredibly impressive—quick, friendly, and attentive. Now, let’s talk about the chicken—super crunchy and so delicious, it’s easily the best I’ve had! I especially loved the scallion sauce, which added a fresh, flavorful kick, and the rice cakes were a perfect complement. We ended with a nice hot Korean coffee! A superb finisher. If you’re looking for amazing Korean fried chicken and a great overall dining experience, Pelicana is the place to go!

I’ve enjoyed Pelicana Chicken at their Atlanta Store on the 14th Street, so I was excited to try this one,but unfortunately, it was a real disappointment. This branch is inside a supermarket food court, so there’s no table service at all. You pick up your food from the counter, seat yourself, and clean your own table afterward. The cashier wasn’t patient or friendly, and even prompted for a tip at checkout despite the lack of service, which felt inappropriate. The chicken itself didn’t taste as fresh or flavorful as what I’ve had at the Atlanta store, which was surprising given how consistently good that location is.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this location.

I’m so happy I tried this restaurant out! I love calamari. I was a little taken aback by the box size of my item. The bag it was placed in seemed a little light. Once I arrived home and tasted one calamari ring, I was happy! I didn’t mind the cost and the portion size was enough! These are the best fried calamari rings I have tasted. They were seasoned to perfection. I will definitely go back!!
