Garlic knots were so good. Would definitely recommend Pelican Jo’s to anybody who loves pizza or garlic. The garlic knots were so rich and fluffy! The pizza crust is very similar to the bread knots, without the garlic. I got a customized pizza, and it came out amazing. We are around 20:30, and it was nice and quiet.

We used to love this place and didn’t mind paying more for a better pizza than the big chains, but lately it’s been going downhill. The last time I ordered it looked like someone had chewed on the pizza, and the pieces were cut into absurd sizes. The cheese bread was so oily on top it was hard to pick up, only to discover it was completely raw in the middle.
I emailed pelican joes, as this order was $60, which is an absurd price for what I received. It’s been a couple weeks and still no response from the owner. I would love to support my local businesses – but I may just have to stick with the big chains from now on.

I debated on making a post about this as I thought it was a once off issue. We order here frequently as the food is very delicious (garlic knots are a must), anyways, there have been several times now that our food has arrived looking a little rough. See photo for reference, tonight one of our pizzas was nearly folded in half. Not to mention the estimated time of arrival was supposed to be 5:25, and our order did not arrive until after 6. We always spend over $100 and tip well, so this is a bit of a disappointing experience.

Showed up 31 minutes after my order was placed and got told “oh I just got your order, it’ll be another 20 minutes” and when I told her I placed my order over 30 minutes ago all she said was well I just got the receipt to the back. Super frustrating and no accountability or apology from the employees, yet they’re all standing around chit chatting and have 2 people sitting at the tables talking and folding boxes.

My boyfriend and I used to love Pelican Jos, but lately we’ve been consistently disappointed with the quality of food. It’s hard to justify supporting a local business when the $20+ specialty pizza you ordered comes with barely any toppings. The garlic knots are still tasty, but for pizza we’ll be looking elsewhere from now on.

We eat here at least 2-5 times a month, typically we have decent food from here. Today I spent $4 just to literally throw it in the trash. I am super disappointed this would be sent out, as I’m sure no one else would want to eat rotten lettuce.

First time trying Pelican Jo’s – very impressed. Started with delivery driver who was friendly and food got to Johnstown quicker than estimated time. Parmesan garlic wings were fantastic. Italian sub was best in area by a mile. Pepperoni Black olive calzone my wife ordered was delicious. So very pleased with our choice- recommend and will definitely try again
