This restaurant had a nice feel. But the food is not very good. The chips and salsa were close to the worst I’ve ever had. The salsa is super watered down and won’t even stay on the chip. The chips were super thin with hardly any taste. The enchilada didn’t even have any sauce on top. It’s like they water down their sauces. The plate came out hot but the food wasn’t that hot. The chile relleno was not good, didn’t have that much flavor at all. The waitress was friendly and very helpful. The bathrooms were clean and very big.

Wow the chips! Thin flour tortillas and salsa that are addictive it so good with the perfect light crunch. They get extra points for tequila margaritas. The food is great Tex Mex style. Service was excellent. A nice touch for families they offered a child’s menu and crayons. There’s a salsa bar that has several creations of salsa and jalapeños to satisfy your tastes. Enjoyed everything about this local restaurant. Recommended!

I have been going to Pelayos from Fairfield to Vacaville for 38 years. It has great people and food. Maria is a wonder in the kitchen. The family of owners are kind people. The service is awesome. What more is there to say.

It had been a little while since location in Fairfield closed during COVID to return in Vacaville for dinner. Waiting room is small, ambience is authentic Mexican. Salsa bar is smaller compared to Fairfield location. Chips were oily soaked, medium thickness and did not offer much flavor. Veg options were similar to other restaurants in similar category. Food quantity is reasonable but average in taste vs competitors. Servers and Service was very good and fast.So, Will resort to lunch special deals to visit rather than Dinner ( reserved for elsewhere).

Ordered lunch specials for takeout this afternoon and the food was phenomenal. We were just discussing how no other restaurant in Dixon or Vacaville match the quality or authenticity of this restaurant. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s consistently excellent!

Okay food. For the price it is more so for the atmosphere. More tex mex than californian mexican style food. Nice that they have complimentary chips and a salsa bar though. I like that they have lunch specials where you can choose from tacos, burritos, tamales, etc. The al pastor is actually really good though.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly and courteous wait staff, and the food was very well prepared. Fresh chips and salsa, and I had the nightly special, which on this day was “Steak Ranchera”. Dish was well prepared, served fresh and hot, and full of taste, and it came with tortillas, which I chose flour, and rice and beans. All in all very nice dining expierience, and a well prepared meal served at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend that if in area, to stop and give them a try. I’ll be back again.

Their chips and salsa are decent. Other than that… not so great. The tamales tasted old, the chili replenish was covered in pico and couldn’t taste it. The red sauce was extremely bland.
