By the time I receieved my order and got to my work site. The portion sizing was consistent with a “Lunch” sized order. My Pork fried rice was chicken fried rice.
I had contacted to location to see if there was a mix up and the sales person stated “No”. Even if I would have ordered 2 more “large” entrees it would not be enough to still feed my staff. The area norm for many locations are the plastic large size dishes which with two entrees normally feeds 5 people.
This was absolutely abysmal, over priced, and I was treated to “Feel bad” for them.
This may be considered being the male version of a “Karen” post however raising prices and shortening portions and lying to your customers on size get you no where.
Lesson learned.
As far as Chinese American restaurants go, this is a real disappointment. If you need to feed the kids in a hurry, this could fit the bill, though, but adults should look elsewhere.
Recipes are uninspired, and not very spicy. Dumplings were mostly dough, and little filling. Kung pow chicken had almost as many water chestnuts as chicken. I’ve never seen Kung pow chicken with water chestnuts. There were no bell peppers or celery. It wasn’t spicy at all.
You might consider this place if you’re in a hurry, need something fast, and don’t care about how the food tastes, but if you’re looking for good Chinese American food, keep searching.
According to an article I found online, Mrs. Ann Troung owned and ran Peking Pavilion until it was sold to her nephew. It may be time for Mrs. Troung to return and offer guidance to the new owner, because the restaurant is unlikely to survive if it continues to serve overpriced, uninspired food.
The House Special Chicken has a Korean fried chicken vibe… think soy-garlic flavor, that’s crispy and hot. I also love their Peking Eggplant, which is cooked fresh and hot, and is basicalkt Yu-shiang Eggplant on other menus. The guy in the back knows what he’s doing, and you can hear his vocal joy of cooking. No apparent online vehicles to order ahead… they’re old school, so you just have to go there or call in your order. Yes, it would be nice if they had delivery options.
I regret to inform you that I can no longer recommend this restaurant. The new ownership has significantly diminished the quality of both the food and customer service. What was once a gem of a Chinese restaurant has sadly lost its luster.
The General Tso’s Chicken, which I previously praised, is now inconsistent. On a recent visit, it tasted more like Orange Chicken. The duck, which used to be a highlight, lacked flavor and crispy skin. The accompanying duck sauce was overly vinegary, and to my surprise, no hot sauce was provided.
The customer service has also deteriorated. The front desk representative was rude and unhelpful, both over the phone and in person. This decline in quality has been echoed by friends and family who were also once loyal customers.
It’s disheartening to witness the downfall of a once-great establishment. I hope the new ownership takes heed of this feedback and makes the necessary changes to restore this restaurant to its former glory. Until then, I sadly cannot recommend this restaurant.

If you want the best General Tso Chicken in Northern Virginia you need to visit this restaurant. I’ve been a customer since high school when I used to come after school to eat General Tso Chicken with friends. Fast forward to present and I continue eating here as I haven’t found another location with as delicious General Tso Chicken as this place. Come place an order and enjoy the delicious experience that follows.

It’s hard to find North American style Chinese sit-down restaurants these days, but this restaurant creates that familiar experience. The cozy dining room, with complementary tea and the fantastic cooking felt exactly like NYC and DC Chinese restaurants I remember from childhood. I’m sure the take-out is great, but come dine in and re-live that Chinese restaurant nostalgia!!
