So very disappointed. I ordered to-go, sweet and sour chicken. When we got home we discovered it had zero sauce, checked the bag- nope, no sauce. Who makes s&s chicken without the main ingredient? That’s a basic freaking recipe! And don’t even get me started on their gross rice. It’s a shame because I used to love that place. I won’t order again.

First time visit and last. We ordered a take away. The Chicken chow mein was taste less and slimy. Also Cost more compared to others. I was dissappointed

I recently dined at Peking House and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, primarily due to food quality and freshness.
The signature crispy duck was the biggest letdown. It tasted like the duck had been pre-cooked and then reheated in oil. The muscle texture was chewy and tough, and while the skin had some crispiness, it lacked the delicate crackle and freshness you expect from properly prepared duck. It missed the mark both in texture and execution.
The orange chicken was also concerning. The sauce appeared heavily food-colored — almost a bright Crayola orange — rather than having the natural tone you’d expect from a citrus-based glaze. It made the dish feel artificial rather than freshly prepared.
The rice was another issue. It wasn’t sticky or fragrant and had the texture of instant or parboiled rice rather than freshly steamed jasmine rice.
Service was fine — no complaints there — but overall, the freshness and ingredient quality did not meet expectations. I was hoping for better execution, especially for a signature dish.

I enjoyed my visit to Peking House for lunch. I liked the idea behind the Chinese chips and dip (see picture) it was very original. The flavors were very good in the sesame chicken I had. The crab Rangoon was good, not quite great. Also they were a little less than generous with the rice portion while the chicken sesame portion was excellent. Even though the decor was dated, I would view it more as Classic. I was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

My parents have been coming to Peking since my mom was pregnant with me, and I’ve been coming here my whole life. They’ve always been consistent! The owners are incredibly sweet, and the service is always fantastic. The food is amazing and always comes out quickly. Some of my favorites are the garlic chicken, curry chicken, hot and sour soup, sugar donuts, and so many more. Their hot tea is also delicious! I honestly can’t rave enough about Peking—it’s by far the best Chinese food in Lakeland!

Coke was flat. Even after they “fixed” it. Had to buy a bottled water.
Iced tea tasted bitter.
They serve you some sort of potato sticks when you arrive. I thought it was sweet and sour sauce with them, but it tasted like ketchup.
Krab Rangoons were ok, but mostly cream cheese with very little krab or seasoning. It was served with the same “ketchup.”
Steamed dumplings were chewy and tasted old.
Beef & Broccoli was good.
General GSO chicken was swimming in too much sauce. I prefer the chicken to be crispier. It was ok.
Will not try again.

Our food tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. The orange chicken was mushy and the fried rice had grey pieces of egg in it. We took two bites and left. Dissapointing to say the least.

Went there for lunch, the fried rice is white rice with soy sauce on it literally! No onions no veggies no eggs no nothing. Ask for chicken and broccoli in Garlic Sauce this is what they give me the photo I uploaded. Will definitely not be recommending or going back. Thanks but no thanks ‍↔️

Wanted that more traditional Chinese experience, but I think this restaurant has more of a fast food jive while masquerading as a full restaurant. Prices are reflective of that as well

Staff was great, both friendly and consistent in service.

Food was ok.

We have eaten at the restaurant and used take ,over 30 times, with great results. 5 out of 5. But don’t order the Peking Duck. We order a Peking Duck for guests on a holiday and we were very disappointed. They should remove it from the menu, because the rest of the menu is good.
