The management and people working there are so rude. They said the manager was too busy to speak to us when we asked. We’ve been coming here for years. All I simply asked for was hot sauce and the lady gave me 2 hot sauces for 7 of us so I asked for more and they threw a whole fit about us asking for hot sauce and then charged me so much extra. They started yelling at me in the store and then yelled at my dad on the phone. We’ve been coming for 10 years and will not be coming back, we miss the old management

My first time experience. I was greeted properly. The cook was a nice and respectful guy. I asked the lady that took my order if she could make a salt & pepper tofu and if the tofu would be breaded and fried. She said it would. I ordered a General Tso tofu which she said would be fried but not breaded. I also order a dried cauliflower dish to try. The cook was nice enough to ask me if I like spicy food and I said yes. Our order was for carry out, so I could not judge the food until I arrived home. Since the cook was interested in my feedback, I am offering up some advice out of respect for the cook and hope you will take my advice to improve because I believe this restaurant has potential to do much better. My rating is due to the flavor profile of all three dishes. None of them suited my taste. The spice level was fine. No issues there. I would have preferred even more peppers in the salt and pepper tofu. Starting the with the salt and pepper tofu, the tofu was not breaded, only deep fried and most likely the oil was previously used to cook meat products so it was not vegetarian friendly. The taste was less than desirable. To improve this dish, I suggest that you dip the damp tofu in a mixture of corn starch mixed with corn flour (no egg required). Fry it until crispy. Add large slices of jalapeno, onion and garlic and top it off with a seasoning mixture of black pepper, salt, and a little bit of Chinese five-spice. This dish had little to no jalapeno or garlic and the salt was a bit chunky in certain spots. The appearance/presentation of the dish was not enticing. Now for the General Tso tofu, the price was too high. Should reduce by $3. The size of the tofu chunks was acceptable. The breading around the tofu was acceptable. The sauce was sub-par. Please invest in a better sauce and you will have more customers. Lastly, the dried cauliflower was lacking taste and presentation. Suggest that you dampen the cauliflower in a spicy/tangy sauce and then bread it or dip into the same corn starch/corn flour mixture I described above, then deep fry and top off with more quality red spicy sauce. If you experiment with this, I am sure you will see better fortune and reviews. Best of luck.

If I could I would give 0 Star. Poor customer service Ive been going for 20 years even after a owner change, yesterday send my daughter to go pick up food order over $50 asked for chilli sauce not extra chilli sauce they refused and said doesn’t come with food. I called the lady said the manager was too busy to talk to me or call back. Each time I went always gave them a generous tip. Plenty of Chinese options in Burke, someone else has my business as they don’t care even if I’m a loyal customer even thru an owner change. Food is not that spectacular for me to go back there

They were arguing as I walked in and continued till I left. Order the schezuan chicken but it was mostly vegetable might as well called it a chicken salad. The place reeked of fabuloso, seems like they’re trying cover up some stink. At least the food was fast so I could gtfo

All I can say is……. YUMMY!!!! Favorite and go to is General Tso’s. I also asked for it extra spicy. Best I’ve had in many years! Excellent flavor, very nice portion size for lunch combinations. Chicken was also juicy and very tender. Will definitely be my new place for Chinese.

Very fast, food was hot. Unfortunately my General Tso’s chicken tasted like fish! I hate fish! So it was trashed.

I go to this place a lot. I enjoy New York style Chinese food and there are only two places in this area I will go to for that. I think the Google rating is a little low and majority of negative ratings were years ago, so I’m giving five stars to boost their rating closer to a 4.

In the dearth of decent Chinese in the area, Peking Chef is excellent for what it is– Chinese American Takeout. The Singapore noodles are generous and not too greasy, the string beans are “dry cooked” and don’t come in a pool of brown sauce, the peking duck has decent skin and good enough pancakes, and the Szechuan Steamed Fish is excellent– flavorful and fragrant. It is a little more authentic than other places, which is a great find.

These people are always so friendly and happy to help. They offer great food and portions, and the cost of menu items are very reasonable for the amount and quality they give you. There is always jasmine tea and water to drink. I personally recommend the moo-shi shrimp, but I have never been disappointed in anything I ordered from here.
