I had been searching for a good Chinese restaurant for dinner and I found this place in Google. Their menu is small and looks good, however, the food is pretty dry. The chicken dishes are made from frozen, which makes it very hard to eat. The service inside was pretty good and fast, but they still need to improve on the quality of food they make.

Not sure who the busy body behind the counter was but, speechless with word is what I encountered upon picking up my conveniently placed order then proceeded to ask for a refund, my first time was the last time. I really wanted the Thai donuts with that creamy milk based dressing., interesting. Orange chicken with no chicken..how you eat that. I would have loved to put a picture of that guy with this comment to address him in the situation since he believes everyone cannot be made happy. Hmph, lucky him, I’m blessed!!!

My wife and I have been eating here for years. In the past few years we’ve noticed they have some kind of policy of not answering their phone. Our overall experience whether we are eating in or getting take out has been hit and miss. Usually the service and attention to detail is wonderful when there is an actual manager present. Our respect for this particular restaurant has been going down in the past year or so. Today it bottomed out. My wife stood in line for 20 minutes to give our detailed order and the black woman taking the order told her “I am already wasting my time on you.” My wife also asked the unpleasant cashier why they don’t answer their phone to which she responded “Baby you see how many people are in line behind you? I can’t answer the phones, take orders and manage all the take out food.” Pei Wei we’ll miss some of your food but not your underwhelming and disrespectful service.

Worst experience to date. Placed my order online and was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant and was told my order was not ready. I waited an additional 30 minutes before the order was completed. The biggest problem was that two of the three orders were cooked and sitting under the warmer. The third order was cooked approximately thirty minutes after the first two. When I asked why this occurred the cashier had no reply. I asked for the manager and was told he was cooking. When I finally spoke with the manager I asked him why this occurred. His reply was simply “I do not know.” “Sometimes this happens.” “That they got busy all of a sudden. I then replied how can this happen when there is three orders on the ticket. Also your system is computerized so don’t tell me you guys don’t know your getting backed up with orders. He never offered anything other than he was sorry.
This is not the first time that this Pei Wei location has told me 20 minutes and it can take up to an hour. On the contrary it has happened numerous times. However never was part of my order sitting so long while the other part of the order was totally ignored.
The other big problem I did not see one employee working there that was over the age of probably 23. They are running their business with a bunch of inexperienced kids. Shame on Pei Wei because there is no good excuse for this. Nothing wrong with young people working but you must have someone with years of experience to lead them and be present.
So I recommend not ordering to go because you will at some point be sadly disappointed.

The food was tasty. The service was fast. BUT EVERY TABLE was dirty and there were only five customers in the restaurant (and four employees). We had to choose the least dirty. Also, the floor was so dirty and sticky I lost my shoe! Not a very appetizing start to say the least. IF we come back, I’ll check the tables and floor for cleanliness first! Good food in a dirty restaurant doesn’t sit well with me.

This was a place you could once trust to bring you family, not anymore.
On Saturday 1-12-2019 at 4 PM my spouse and I stopped in for dinner after a day downtown Austin. It was absent of customers, very dirty, stinky and yes sticky too. The employees were not to concerned about the filthy conditions and certainly in no hurry to get some cleaning in while they were without dinning guest.
I order Kung Pao Chicken and it was so bad I returned it directly to the cook and I told him the chicken was old and filled with oil as if it was recooked and reheated from the lunch time hour. Here’s the kicker, he made no offer to refund my $9.00, make me a fresh order or even an apology for his lack of consideration or his ability to do his job.
This place was our choice on several occasions over the years for our company dinner orders to go.
Never again, not even if its free. I don’t feel bad about my $9.00 loss because I know they are finished. I’m am hopeful they know why.
Good-by Pei Wei Bee Cave, it was good a long time ago.

Pick up the phone. I’ve spent over 20 minutes in aggregate in a matter of 2 days being put on hold when attempting to place an order (6 minutes, 10 minutes, 9 minutes). Never once have they picked up. I even drove to this location with my phone expecting a large crowd. Lo and behold, there were only 3 customers dining in and all the staff members ignoring the phone. When I confronted the manager about it on 1/4/2018 around 11:30am, they were apathetic about it.
I’ve been dining at this location for over 7 years and have seen frequent managerial and staff changes, but never have I seen a crew so incompetent as this bunch. The portions sizes are always inconsistent, even for the exact same order placed on the exact same day.

I think Bruce and I had the same unpleasant cashier experience. Went in to pick up a online order and was greeted by an African American lady (no formal line was formed). I say my name and I that I’m here to pick up and she abruptly raises her voice to say “Baby there’s people in front of you” responded that I was confused since there was no line formed. She helped the customers in front of me, when it got to be my turn she screamed that she could get me. I go to pick up my food and she says “Baby, you need to stop with this attitude” excuse me? I asked what attitude she could not give a response… I’ve worked in customer service for 6 years and I know that the customer is ALWAYS right no matter what. Her customer service has been unpleasant to me and fellow reviewer Bruce Burns. I will not be returning solely because of the sour experience I witnessed today. Pei Wei please clean up your team and get rid of the bad apples giving you guys bad reviews.

We have loved Pei Wei in the past but the last year at the Bee Cave Tx location we get disappointed frequently! We will start going elsewhere for a while. Every time I get take out the order is incorrect or they have forgotten something. The last 3 visits in a row they have twice not added right food. Their main portions for dinner have been smaller. They did correct it by giving me a gift card and fixed the right dish but I had to drive back to pick it all up. They forget the sauces that go with the meals and tonight they forgot the rice that went with my husbands dinner. How can you forget to place the rice in the dish? They need more help at this location and need to hire employees who can be more accurate and precise on the job!

Great staff but there is not enough of them. Tried to call an order in but after 20 mins I gave up. Upon arriving at the store only a single person was in the dining room. One guy working the register, the phones, and the dining room. He was trying but just couldn’t do it. Fried rice was over cooked, soup pretty bad and food was cold by the time I walked out with it. Place appears to be going down hill fast. Last two visits were very similar. Very disappointing as I’ve gotten some really good food here in the past, but not lately.
